This is a fantastic journal for anyone who wants a sort of antique feeling when writing. The cover is, indeed, very soft and - for lack of a better word - floppy and the pages are thick and yellowed. If you're looking for a crisp, clean, tough journal, this probably won't be your cup of tea. If you like writing in something that feels old and worn, however, this is the perfect journal for you!

I bought this to keep an everyday journal of what the kids and I do while my husband is away at work. It is perfect. I can glue tickets or pics, ect.. in it with no problems. The paper is unlined and great quality. My husband really enjoys it and it doesn't look feminine. The cover is very soft. I would recommend this journal to anyone for any use. GREAT BUY!

At first its hard to write in because the cover is so floppy. But as you get enough written in it then there is more to write on. (cover-wise) Theres also a handy pen holder and the paper is great its yellowed and there are no printed lines so you can draw and stuff.

The cover is made from a rawhide-type leather, so it's not rigid at all. The pockets in the cover are a bit small, and the paper looks like it's made from corrugated cardboard. It does, however, make one feel as though one were writing in a &quot Frontier Journal.&quot Having that said, I like it.

I really enjoy this journal. The cover was nice and soft, and bendable so that the insides lay flat, plus the perforated pages were a help if you need to tear something out without worrying about messing up the binding. The pages were grooved so it's not the best for using colored pencils with is you want even coverage. The pen/cil holder on the front is a very helpful addition so that you have one handy. It also isn't overly heavy, but does have a nice weight to it. My only problem with this journal is the lack of availability of refill paper. B&N doesn't seem to have any and it's ended up being a bit difficult to find online as well. I like this journal, but not enough to buy a completely new one if I can't find refill paper.

I absolutely LOVE this Journal and the way it feels when I write on this type of paper! I love it so much I own two of them! I'm really interest in finding Refills for this, does anyone know where I can find them? A B&N in Austin directed me to the Website but I've had no luck.

I ordered the third one for my ST notes collection.  I used every page of it on the first two distressed journal.  It is good to write on and easy to carry around.  I can put my two fav. pens inside the front little pocket. Sturdy, practical, functional and elegant. Your project will take off successful using this journal.

This is a really great journal.  The leather is very rustic as it says.  The pages actually have a slight perforated line so you can easily remove a page but they are still solidly attached.  The pen holders in the front are a great addition because I am always looking for my favorite pen that always seems to be missing when I go to write in my journal.  The pages also have a very rustic look to them and a antiqued white/yellowish look to them with very faint lines.  The lines are more of a rustic finish than lines to write by, they are very faint but add to the rustic appeal of the journal.  The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I bought this to also draw in and found that the rustic sheen to the paper is not really great for drawing.  You can draw but pencil dulls quickly on this paper.  If you draw in ink, this paper would be fine.  In fact I use gel ink pens and it holds the ink well and dries almost instantly and does not go through the paper.  The thickness and quality of the paper is very good.  So if you are looking for a rustic journal that looks like you took some time and made this yourself as a keepsake, this journal fits the bill.

This is a great journal. The front pockets are so convenient for keeping pens around. The paper isn't lined per se, which is great for drawings, but it does have very close together ridges, so if you want lines for writing text, they are there. I wish I could buy this online, I don't want to drive all the way to STL to get it. Alternately, I wish I could buy a refill for it.

My artsy mother got this for a present and she carries it with her everywhere. She is so proud of this thing.

The paper is spectacular - perfectly yellowed, unruled, but with small ridges that make writing in a straight line possible. The cover is so soft and floppy. BUY THIS JOURNAL NOW!! It's the one you want.

This is the best journal I've owned. I'm disappointed that Barnes and Noble does not keep these in stock. If they ever come back I'm buying 10 of them!

I bought it to do an Art Journal out of, and the paper isn't quite heavy enough to handle multiple layers of media. The pages do lay flat when it is open, but some of the pages have started to tear from their perforated sections. For a regular journal, it is ideal. I have gotten quite a few compliments on it, when I was out and about, and I do enjoy the feel of the pages as I write in them.

Love the feel, the paper and the price! BUT, I would love to be able to get replacement paper for it!

I love the feel of this leather. Not so hip on the kraft paper. I like my pages to be thin and durable.
