Mark-My-Time Assorted Neon Color Digital Bookmark

Drop everything and read! The biggest challenge facing busy parents is how to monitor and record daily reading goals, often for more than one child at a time. The Mark-My-Time digital bookmark lets each child record reading minutes at the touch of a button. Did you know reading just 20 minutes a day for one year will expose your child to one million words as well as increase grammar and writing skills?

At the top of this bookmark is a digital clock that's powered by a replaceable watch battery. Choose to set a countdown timer with alarm that alerts readers when they have completed their required reading time or use the cumulative timer, which stores up to 100 hours of reading time over multiple sessions until the reader chooses to delete it. A 60-second countdown/count up feature displays seconds at the one-minute mark to aid in fluency checks. With its slim form, it fits neatly between the pages of any book.

I put the reading timer in my grandson's Christmas stocking. If he goes to bed on time his parents allow him to read for 10 minutes. He sets the timer reads for 10 mins. and calls his parents in to tuck him in. No arguments about how long he's been reading. Everyone is happy!

This is great for kids who are supposed to read a certain amount of time for school - they like to use it and it motivates them to read (for a while, anyway). The bookmark is top-heavy, though, and doesn't actually stay in a book too well if you're carrying the book around - or even putting the book in a backpack. It should have a clip to clip it to adjacent pages.

I bought these for all my grandkids (4) of reading age. They all love them because it is so easy to track their reading time for school. Because of the size of the timer, I was afraid they would think it was too heavy, but they loveit Plus it won't be easy to lose!

This bookmark is an average purchase. I thought it was a little hard for an 8 year old to use.

It's very handy to keep in my book when I need to count my minutes for school. But, when I enter 20 min, it counts for 20 min, 59 seconds. And sometimes the beeping just randomly starts really loudly. The battery doesn't last too long, either.

I bought this as a gift for my reading student. His Mom and he seemed very excited to have one!

When my son was in third grade, he had to start reading 15 minutes every night and he kept stealing the timer in the kitchen. I was in line at Barnes and Noble one day and saw this bookmark and purchased it. It is awesome. Not only does it count up, but it also counts down and is also a clock. So if he just wants to read for his 15 minutes he can count down, but if he wants to see how long he can read, he can count up. The only downside is when it's a new book and not too many pages have been read, because the bookmark is "top heavy", it tends to fall out. We just make sure theres a paper clip handy to mark his page in case it does.

I bought this for my 7-year old son. He often became upset with me when it came time for him to complete his required 20 minutes daily for school, arguing about the time he had actually spent. He now uses his bookmark timer and manages his reading time himself. He takes pride in his new independance and often reads longer than required. It was easy for him to learn to use and provides options for me to set an established reading time if he starts to slack off. Inexpensive way to solve many arguments about time limits.

My son uses this to keep track of his reading time for school. It is a great way to put him in charge and be responsible!

I am 50 years old and have fun using the up counter. It allows me to keep track of how long it takes me to read a book. There is a countdown feature that you can set and it starts counting down. Great for use with kids. I always wanted them to read for a certian amount of time before they could go back to game playing or TV. I alwasys forgot what time they should be done. This makes fun for the kids while helphing you keep track. I just love mine!

Very Disappointed in customer service. Being a teacher with limited resources, I was excited to find what appeared to be a great deal for my reading students. You will only get 1 Mark My Time "Assorted" Neon Bookmark even though a picture of three is displayed. I clicked on purchase and thought I was purchasing 10 sets of 3. Upon receiving my order, I was very disappointed to see I had received three rewrapped pack of three printed on the barcode and one individual one. You DO NOT have OPTIONS! Upon calling customer service, it was brought to my attention that I needed to scroll down past two sets of ads to find a further description and still yet click show more to actually find out you would be only shipped one bookmark of their color choice. At minimum, I asked customer service as well as a manager to edit the title to reflect what we are ordering. You should not misrepresent even if only in the title/image a product.

A stop watch and regular book mark would work as well.

Our daughters have used their bookmarks for several years and love them.  They are great to track the reading time needed each night for homework.

Wonderful tool to help my child track reading time, without my giving reminders or checking on progress.

This was a holiday gift for my four grandchildren who can read, ages 10, 9, and two 7 years old. Learning to work the timer took more than a little bit of help from Granpa...The post-holiday break was still on when we left so we hope the kids are using them. They all have to read a specific number of minutes at night for homework so we hope these will prove useful.

This bookmark is not user friendly, especially for children. And then within 3 days, the entire thing goes haywire!
