Pancor said it best!! "It seemed to be saying, write in me all your secret thoughts and dreams, and I will keep them safe and hidden for you forever! I could imagine myself on a bed in a large castle with candles everywhere, writing in this journal!" I've filled up 5 copies of this journal in the last year. (well, 4 like this and 1 that's nearly the same, just green) It has everything that a medieval fantasy dreamer could want! I'm using a different journal right now... and I miss this one sooo much! I'll be sure to finish as quickly as possible so that I can use this one again. =')

I love the look of this journal. I purchased it in-store. I don't usually prefer refillable journals, but the aesthetic appeal of this one convinced me. Unfortunately, I regret it. The casing, though pretty, is a hassle. The cover of the book itself never seems to want to stay inside, and it gets bent and wrinkled when I try to put it back in. This can be avoided if I just don't lay the book flat when I write, but that's a convenience I'll keep thank you very much. It's a wonderful size, the paper is lovely, and it looks pretty, but the experience of actually using a refillable journal is something I'll avoid in the future.

I LOVE this journal!! I picked it out for my Birthday about two years ago, and it's about half way full right now, and it's still in great shape. Best journal I have ever gotten, it really is like something you would see someone writing in back in the day.

I love this jouranl very much, as I was taken by the material and most of all the Lions embossed on the front. I have almost filled the journal insert and would like to purchase additional inserts as well, without having to buy the leather cover. Does anyone know if that is possible and if so, where I can purchase them. Thanks

I have loved this journal from the moment I saw it. Felt like it was made for me. I've been trying to figure out how to get the same lined book inside to replace this one that I have filled up. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear. Would like the exact same inside book without having to pay again for the cover.

Those of you who have asked for refills of this journal, look no further (though, honestly you should have looked further because the refills are plainly being sold on this website!) Here they are: This is the lined refill, which is probably the same as the one that comes with the journal. I didn't order this but there's a reviewer from 2013 who confirms it fits. This is an unlined refill. That's right, UNLINED. It is a thick book of pure cream-colored blank pages. It makes the Medici Lions journal a pure bliss of a sketchbook!

This is by far my FAVORITE journal. It's flexible and durable. I use it for my writing exercises and scenes for my fiction book. I wanted something that reminded me of a tome without overburdening my travel pack. I've had it over a year and it is still fully intact and just a wonderful piece of writing art. The pages are tea-stained without the splotches, so it's nice and easy on the eyes. Anything white or blue hurts my eyes, so this hit the spot. I write a lot, and I'm ALMOST halfway through this journal. So keep in mind it's not tiny, travel-sized. I've read some people's reviews. I'm not one to lay my book flat, so am not sure how the cover gets that way; I don't have a wrinkle problem. I do have a toddler problem. My son managed to write in purple scribbles on the front. It adds history, I suppose. One thing, that I'm sure my toddler is responsible for, is my bookmark; it frayed. It still looks cool and feathery, but that's not how it was before. A lot of love went into this journal post-purchase. Recommend it. I plan on putting a coffee ring stain on it just for added conversation starters. Lawlz.

Great Journal but sadly, there does not appear to be a way to purchase refills? I see 2 other people posted the same comment and yet Barnes and Noble has not deemed them worthy of a reply. Perhaps they do not need the additional sales revenue?
