Spirit of Christmas: A History of Best-Loved Carols based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
This book is well-designed and has good content. It stays true to the religious origins of Christmas - no Santa Claus or Rudolph here. But the very first set of lyrics - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel - contains an error. The first line of the last verse should read, 'O come, thou Key of David, come' but the last word is ommitted, keeping the first line from rhyming with 'And open wide our heavenly home' on the second line. Beautiful paintings and frescoes of angels are illustrate each section.
