A gripping and terror-inspiring read, full of rich characters and intensely dramatic scenes. Imagine being cursed to live forever, not human, not a ghost, to be robbed of body but not ability, to live in a house where you are unseen, to watch someone that you cannot help but love and spend every waking moment carefully pining over, yet to be unable to have them, to be unable to be by their side as human. The love of a bitter and spiteful witch caused the curse. Can love also break the curse? An absolutely amazing read, a must have.
I loved this short story by Carolina Lane. I noticed some copy editing problems, but those are easily fixed. I think I would like to see it developed into a full novel, if she would ever care to do that. I would like to know more about the characters and their time period, and certainly more about the curse and the woman who got James into the position he was in, half man, half ghost.
