Oh, this story took me by surprise. What these MC's have to overcome would break most people and the author writes their story in such an inspiring way. Very entertaining and enjoyable read, even though what they are going through is hard because you know, especially with these two, true love will triumph (of course it will, it's a romance but it's a really well done romance...) I recommend the entire series. Well worth the money and time spent. It's taking up my entire Thanksgiving weekend - glad we did not have much planned but relaxing anyway...

As with most of Harper's work, I could do with less sex but the story is well developed and fleshed out, the scenes fully described, you could almost be in the place with the characters.

I have really fallen in love with Mac and Tony's story. In this installment the family dynamic is palpable. Mac and Tony finally have their family together. After over coming insurmountable odds they make their union official. As Mac's latest investigation into the murder of a young gay man who is involved in rough sex begins to come together, Murphy's Law steps into their lives again. Mac is on the verge of the possible arrest of a killer but he thinks Brittany knows more than she let on. He decides to talk with her one more time to hopefully rattle her fascade in hope of gaining more evidence. Mac and Tony truly love each other but how much more can they really take. How much more can the kids take? As a wife of a police officer, I could feel Tony's stress at the thought of losing Mac. As a result I really wanted to hurt that idiot bigot Terrance for not being there as backup for Mac. I like that Oliver finally resumes his normal friendship with Mac. I also really enjoy that extended family members, like Tony's mom, begin embracing the newly formed family of two dads and two kids. I loved this story and cannot wait to see the final book. I need them to have an HEA ending.

Time flew by when I read this book, which to me shows how good a book really is. It was wonderful seeing how the family Mac and Tony had made in the previous book, "Breaking Cover" was doing. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath... Some questions remained at the end of the book, and I hope we don't have to wait too long before we find out what will be happening next for these two wonderful men.
