Overview
The essential help you need when your textbook just isn't making the grade!
Homework Helpers: Algebra is the latest book in the popular series designed to help you master the material and tackle the tests. It covers all of the topics in a typical Algebra I class, including:
- Solving linear equalities and inequalities
- Solving systems of linear equations
- Factoring polynomials
- Graphing functions
- Working with rational functions
- Solving quadratic equations
- Understanding word problems
Each subject is explained in everyday language before numerous examples are worked. Practice problems are included throughout the book and are solved clearly and systematically. Problem-solving skills and good habits, such as checking your answers after every problem, are emphasized.
Particular attention is placed on topics that students traditionally struggle with the most. The final chapter covers word problems in detail and teaches you several problem-solving strategies.
Homework Helpers: Algebra will help build a solid mathematical foundation and enable students to gain the confidence they need to study Algebra II. This book also contains a summary of important formulas for easy reference.
Whether used as a stand-alone text or to supplement a poorly written or badly organized "official" one, each volume in the Homework Helpers series is just what students need to boost their confidence…and their grades.
