Comments: Houston's 610 Loop at rush hour: Sadly, even Gandhi might falter.Ah! My first honku! And what, you might ask, is a honku? Well, a honku is "the Zen antidote to road rage,a little haiku written to release anger at the automotive world". And I do feel a quiet sense of happiness upon completing this honku, a feeling of striking back, however gently, at the crazed world of the car and driver. My favorite from the book: I let you over now where is my thank-you wave? Aaron Naparstek accomplishes exactally what he sets out to do in his first honku book, 'Honku: The Zen Antidote to Road Rage'. Hilarlously funny, we cannot help but laugh with him at ourselves and those around us bent on being the first to the stop light. Composing three short lines of poetry instead of cracking eggs or skulls, this author chooses to express himself artistically rather than raging at his predicament. Truly, THE antidote to road rage. Thank you, Aaron, for a job well done.

The story that gave birth to this book is a funny one (read the preface), and the book is even funnier. It brings the fine art of city parking to an almost mystical level. And it's the perfect read for when you are sitting in traffic or waiting for a parking spot to free up.
