Overview

A gorgeous woman, a heart pounding kiss.

It should've been the start to my new life, but I pushed her away.

She deserved better than a wounded warrior, someone who could barely face getting up in the morning.

A year later I've turned my life around, made myself into a man she could be proud of. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

And all I want is a second chance with her.

This was a fantastic short novella. Scott and Faith meet during the Christmas celebration at her house. He's recently home from his tour of service recovering from injuries and dealing with the loss of loved ones. After and entertaining (but semi-disastrous) celebration, Faith is hesitant to return home for Christmas the following year. In the end, she's happy she did. While Scott appeared to be in a good place on the surface, the year allowed him to heal internally and become the man he needs to be. I had such a fun time reading this novella. I would have loved a little more depth to a few of the characters, but that in no way detracted from the story being told. If you're looking for a fun, short read, I recommend picking this one up. I received an Advanced Reader copy of this book and I'm choosing to leave a review.

This is a short but none the less exciting, emotional and heartwarming holiday read. Two people who grew up in the same area but never really new each other until one crazy Christmas Eve under the Mistletoe. I laughed and cried it was such a entertaining and fun story. Perfect for a cozy night in bed.

I loved Honor by Nicole Blanchard! Scott has returned home from serving our country overseas physically, mentally and emotionally wounded. He isn't really in the celebrating mood, but his neighbors have invited him over to share in their Christmas celebration. He doesn't want special treatment or to be pitied because he didn't come home whole. Faith is home for the holidays for Christmas break and sees something in Scott that she finds interesting, but Scott turns her down flat. She swears that she will never allow that to happen again even if it means missing the family Christmas celebration. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
