Honoring your grief
When we honor our grief, we honor the very essence of our humanity; the capacity to love deeply, to forgive, let go, and to realize the deeper meaning for our lives and living. As such, grieving is a conscious undertaking-- a tender labor that ushers us towards self-awareness, sovereignty, and personal peace.

About the Author

Throughout her life, Mayra Porrata, the granddaughter of Spanish immigrants from Oviedo, Spain, has traversed diverse cultural landscapes. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she experienced a pivotal transition at age 11 when her family relocated to Munroe Falls, Ohio. This shift thrust her into a profound valley of cultural, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual exploration—a space where she grappled with the complexities of identity, language, and belonging.

Honoring your grief was sparked by the death of her first-born daughter Serena Silvestro – a pre-med student at Cleveland State University who succumbed to cystic fibrosis at age 19. Their life and journey together, loosely documented in Mayra’s publishing history, stand as a testament of the sacred, unconditional, and boundless power of love.

Today, Mayra works as a writer and publisher via SOLARA PUBLISHING, and as a creative partner at SILVERWAYS, LLC. Through both, she continues to explore the intersections of health and personal leadership through grief awareness and recovery, offering powerful insights into our innate benevolence and potential for true prosperity and peace.
