I received an early copy of this book through a contest on Olivia Miles' Facebook page, which I was thrilled about!! I have been reading the Briar Creek series from the start (Mistletoe on Main Street) and fell in love with the charming town and characters. Olivia writes with such emotion, such great description! I can actually see, taste, smell and feel as I read along, and this is one of the reasons that Olivia Miles is one of my most favorite authors! Hope Springs was packed with romance and Fall fun, two of my most favorite things! Jane was a favorite character of mine since the first book, and this one highlights her and her adorable daughter Sophie. Jane is managing a busy life as a single mother when a handsome friend from her past comes to Briar Creek and is suddenly the light on a dark day. Oh I just loved it! You MUST pick this book up and see the romance between Jane and Henry unfold, as well as seasonal fun, heartwarming characters and small town charm. You will "Fall" in love with Briar Creek, as I did, I'm sure of it! Hope there will be more books in this series!

this story tells of a love lost and a love found. not necessarily with the same person. jane is blind-sided by her husband's infidelity, even more so when he plans a marriage with his lover within a couple months of the divorce, and she learns his betrothed is pregnant!! enter henry, a long time friend....also a friend of her ex's. while she is trying to figure out her feelings for henry, her ex files for custody of their daughter. loved the story and its outcome. can wait for the next one.....

As I read this book the words that came to mind were 'complicated' and 'moving'. HOPE SPRINGS ON MAIN STREET is such an emotional and touching story about starting over and getting a second chance at love. It's a romance, sure, but it's also about hope and courage and strength of will. Jane Madison is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after her divorce but having her ex-husband living in the same town with the woman he cheated on her with makes it even harder, especially with the well-meaning but misguided gossip in town. Her resolve takes an even harder hit when she finds out that her ex-husband is marrying his mistress and having a baby with her. Jane is determined to move on and find a man that cherishes her, someone she can share quiet evenings with and feel comfortable and secure with but she doesn't expect that man to be her ex's best friend, Henry Birch. Henry and his sister grew up under a cloud of scandal and gossip because of their alcoholic mother and he left Briar Creek as soon as he could but he's back in town for the first time in six years to settle his mother's affairs after her death and close the book on his painful past in Briar Creek. The only bearable thing about coming back is kind and beautiful Jane Madison, the only woman he ever loved, the woman he lost to his best friend because of his insecurities. Henry knows that he's not cut out for long term relationships but he's willing to try with Jane. Jane was an amazing character. Her strength and composure as she navigated a very difficult situation just about broke my heart. It's hard to really be happy for others when your life is crumbling around you and the hits just keep coming, but she handled it so well. Deciding to be together took a great deal of courage from Jane and Henry because of their connection with Jane's ex Adam and for Henry, his relationship with Adam's family. There are sometimes you read a book and connect so well with the characters and everything they are going through and this was one such book. HOPE SPRINGS ON MAIN STREET wasn't all sunshine and roses but it was a very great story. I'm looking forward to catching up on the previous books and reading more in the series. I am a strong believer in strength of character. No individual knows how they will handle a situation until they have to face it head on. Jane is my hero. She dealt with a major JA for years and then was tossed aside like trash. This is a woman that had the rug pulled from under her yet she handled it with grace and strength. She learned from her past mistakes and with the help of an old friend may find a new chance at love. Hope Springs on Main Street is a story that is not always sunny but just like Jane leaves you feeling stronger for reading it. This is my first read by Olivia Miles and I am so grateful to have discovered her work. Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jane Madison never expected to find herself starting over in life at her age, but when her husband divorces her and leaves her for another woman, she has no other choice. She is left to pick up the pieces of her life and try to provide some semblance of a normal life for her young daughter, which proves to be a lot harder than she expected. Especially when she finds out her husband is planning to marry and have a child with the woman he cast her aside for. She submerses herself into her work, and helping her sister plan her wedding in hope of easing the pain of her loss, but the longing to find that kind of love again with someone, just won't go away. She knows she deserves to be happy, and wants to find love again, but isn't really ready to put her heart at risk again. That is until she finds out that Henry Birch has returned to town... Henry Birch has returned home to take care of his mother's personal affairs after she passes, and close a chapter on his life that he's more than ready to forget. His past in this little town still haunts him, with the exception of his memories of his best friends girl Jane. He is pleasantly surprised to discover that Jane is single again, and in search of a happily ever after for her and her daughter. He has never gotten over his friends wife or her decision to marry someone so totally wrong for her. But now that she is single, he is beginning to think that making this trip could be the best thing that has ever happened to him... This was my first visit to the Briar Creek series, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it, so much so, I'm planning a return visit very soon. I loved reading Henry and Jane's story, it felt very real, honest and easy to identify with. I love reading small town romances and this one definitely hit the mark, it warmed my heart and left me smiling! Definitely small town romance at it's best!! ARC requested through NetGalley, and kindly provided by Forever Grand Central Publishing in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.
