The exercises presented here are intended to reduce discomfort, counteract hormonal imbalances and their side-effects, and increase flexibility. The author begins with an overview of the endocrine system and symptoms of menopause then discusses breathing techniques and preliminary stretching exercises. Various yoga positions are presented as a sequence of daily exercises to promote hormonal balance. VERDICT Beginners of yoga may have difficulty performing some of the positions, but those with prior experience will be able to use the descriptions and illustrations to follow along. Perfect book for any woman who wants to gain some control over the inevitable effects fo menopause. Hormone Balance Through Yoga by Claudia Turske is an easy to understand guide to exercies and postures that help minimize mood swings, weight gain, loss of energy and other problems caused by changes in hormone levels. Great chart included to track when exercises and postures have helped improve daily quality of life. Book is well worth the money and is small enough to be easily portable when you travel.

I borrowed this book initially from the library, and was impressed enough to buy my own copy. It is "pocket size", so will be easy to bring with me anywhere. The explanations of breathing techniques, etc, is done very well. I believe this is a good value for the money. I do not practice it every day, but about 2 or 3 times a week. So far, I do see an improvement.
