the best description of this tale? NO. I f-----g love it. I got lost in Prisoner and now in Hostage! How do you two think of these tales? The characters are so real, I feel like I know them personally and they could walk in....walk in for spaghetti :) I highly recoommend. However it woul be good to read Pridoner first, but not necessary.

4.5 stars Hostage is nothing and everything you would expect from these two talented and twisted authors. To say I'm biased might be true but only because I've devoured their books. I have yet to read one that didn't have me highly entertained or on the edge of my seat. Maybe I'm biased because I like the damaged bad boys. Maybe it's because I look for light in the darkness. Maybe it's because I'm a hopeless romantic... Whatever the reason, I loved Hostage. I love the fear, the desperation, and of course the vigilante justice. There are few things in this world that get my blood thirst active...but people that harm kids is my number one. Do I condone certain behaviors...no...but do I understand- Hell yes! Would I have reacted the same...this isn't the time to share my story. ;) Hostage is a dark trail that runs along side a blackened highway. It's not quite as dark as you might think but it isn't exactly fluffy unicorns. It's intense. It's raw and it's exactly what you needed to happen. Hostage is second in the series but you can read it first like I did with no problems following at all. You will scramble to read Prisoner though if you haven't already.

Having not read Prisoner, I didn't know what to expect of Hostage. I had no idea that it would pull me in so quickly and not let me go. I really loved Stone even though he was so broken, but I think it was Brook that really pulled me in. We know Stone is broken, we expect all manner of depraved things from him, but Brook was broken too. She was so far from the bell of the ball that she was expected to be and I think it put her in the perfect frame of mind to deal with everything that Stone threw at her. Now I need to go read Prisoner! #MSBB

OMG this book!! Sooo Good!! What a heart wrenching book. I loved Stone and Brooke's story!! Brooke the beautiful girl who was made to put on airs to keep up the charade of being rich. She is trapped but doesn't know how to be free! Stone the brooding handsome bad boy who has his own demons that haunt him. Skye Warren and Annika Martin have a way of portraying characters that you grow to love. Please read this beautiful love story..and check out more of Skye's and Annika's books.

Brooke is trying to be the perfect daughter but she is being suffocated by trying to meet her parents expectations. Needing a break from her sweet 16 birthday party she ventures outside only to intervene when she is witnessing a crime and now she has become a hostage. They do let her go but they take something from her to ensure that she never speaks of what she saw. Stone wants revenge and his only loyalty is to his brothers so anyone standing in his way will be dealt with. He knows that he shouldn’t let Brooke live after what she witnessed but there is something about her that won’t let him harm her. When he lets her go that should be the last time he should see her but the need to see her is stronger than he is despite the consequences. Brooke knows she should be scared of him and she feels many things for him but fear is not one of them. This is amazing story of two people who are complete opposites but they complete each other. Their journey is two years in the making and is not wine and flowers but what you get is something so much better. The collaboration between these two authors was seamless which makes this is a story you don’t want to miss. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

This is not book you read fast. This book you savor every word, every plot twist, every character... There is heat, there is love, there is salvation for damaged hearts and lives... I LOVED this book! Please, will there be more books for the other guys?

Gritty and tense, Hostage takes an obsessive romance forged in pain and helplessness and shows you hope, love, and justice. Stone and Brooke are two individuals trapped by their circumstances. But their circumstances couldn’t be more different. The debutant and the criminal, the teenager and the man. Their lives collide outside Brooke’s posh sweet sixteen birthday party when she sees something she shouldn’t. From there, their lives are tied together. This book is filled with secrets and, as the story is told over the course of years, the characters slowly reveal their secrets as well as their feelings for each other. Perfectly paced with characters I could root for—AND SMOKING HOT SEX—I loved this book. My only quibble was how quick and neat the ending wrapped everything up, with most of the action happening off page. I did read book one in this series, Prisoner, several years ago. And while book one wasn’t fresh in my mind, I did remember the basics, and it enhanced my read of this book. I think this book can be very easily read as a standalone. Though, I loved Prisoner and HIGHLY recommend it.

Hostage by Skye Warren and Annika Martin is book Two in the "Criminals & Captives" series. This is the story of Brooke and Stone. I have not yet read the previous book 'Prisoner', so for me this was a standalone book. Broke is having her Sweet 16 Birthday party when this books starts. Broke's parents are almost at a financial ruin but having to keep up appearance they are throwing her this birthday party. Broke is upset at this party because she has to pretend that everything is fine and tries to do her parents proud by socializing. But when she slips out to take a breath and get control of herself she happens upon Stone beating someone to death. Stone takes Broke with him and lets her know that she has signed her death notice. But the more time he spends with her he finds that he can't harm her. Stone makes her aware that he is letting her go but she has to stick to a story that keeps him out of the cops eye. But Stone just can't seem to walk away from Broke and keeps coming back. Broke at first is worried that he is back to hurt her but she too is starting to having feeling for him. This is a Dark Romance but I didn't think it was very Dark. Stone and his friend/brothers have reason for the way they are and how they were treated as kids. Their story sucks you in and is won't let you go until the end! Loved it!!!
