About the Author

Karen Pearl Sharpe aka Sydelle Houston, is no stranger to writing; having spent over 40 years as an astrologer, which taught her the importance of making the most of the planetary ammunition we were all born with and life being the target. She also has more than two decades of experience as an artist, majoring in cartooning, animation and advertising in high school. Prior to starting her own home-based decorative art business in 1992, Karen Sharpe spent years as a proofreader and copy editor in the typography industry. Before joining RWA - Romance Writers of America - she wrote nonfiction articles for several weekly NYC neighborhood newspapers published by Harlem News Group and astrological columns for CableView, a monthly cable TV magazine as well as a nationally recognized newspaper, Street News, geared to spotlight the plight of the homeless. She is currently editing a novel written during National Novel Writing Month, which is a new genre adventure for her - historical romance set in 1870 New York.
