Hot Tango by Sidney Bristol

SWAT officer Cole Westling walks a fine line of control. If his wife knew exactly what he wanted to do to her, he'd lose the most precious thing in his life. Instead, he throws himself into work.

Tanya Westling did not leave her job as a globe-trotting humanitarian to spend her nights playing roller derby and sleeping alone. Armed with a few adult toys and a prayer, she challenges him to a sensual game that will strip away their ideas of what sex should be.

Cole's surprised but it's his dream come true. With each sexual encounter, the walls between them come crumbling down and each must face the truth of what their marriage has been and what it could be.

Inside Scoop: Contains an alpha hero who wants sex at all hours and a heroine who knows what she wants, just not the words to get it. Also depicts criminal activity, the strong arm of the law and a self-rescuing heroine.

This book was previously published by Ellora's Cave.

I was offered an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. I really enjoyed this novel, first in the Good Guys Wear Black series. I found Cole and Tanya relatable and the issues within their relationship true to life. The plot was interesting (First time I ever read a novel that ever discussed roller derby.) and had gripping, suspense. I can't wait to read more in this series. Well written contemporary romance! - Sarah

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation Hot Tango is about a couple who are already married and together for the last 13 years. Cole and Tanya Westling are having some issues that are not being addressed do to the Olympics that are taking place in their town. Cole is a member of the SWAT team for the police security for the village 24/7…. so they hardly ever see each other for more than a few hours at any given time. Tanya who was a globe-trotting humanitarian but has given it up to spend more time with Cole has taken up roller derby to pass the time while he works and is trying to find a way to entice her husband to be more passionate and open with her. But she is afraid to share her innermost thoughts for fear that Cole will reject her…..mean while….. Terrorists invade the Olympic village but Cole and the SWAT teams try to take them down but they somehow escape and end up at the “Warehouse” where the roller derby is being played. Tanya happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and becomes one of many hostages. Now she has to figure out a way to let Cole know what is happening so he and his teams can save them before all h*ll breaks loose…. Tanya and Cole are a married couple in a bit of a rut - he's working at all hours with his SWAT job, she works too and is a roller derby girl on the side. When Tanya decides it's time to shake things up a bit, she heads to the bedroom armed with knowledge and a few extras. They love each other but love isn't everything. Will Tanya's efforts to shake things up bring them closer together or tear them apart? This was such a fun and exciting read! It was great to see a married couple for a change, one that loves each other but is realistic that a marriage needs more than that to survive. I thought both characters were depicted really well and the emphasis on being able to communicate with each other was clearly the answer to some of their problems. There is definitely still a strong sexual attraction between them and Tanya's 'marital aids' ramped up the steamy quotient of the story, making their love scenes hot and emotional. The setting was well described and there were lots of action scenes to keep things moving, both with Tanya and her roller derby gang and with Cole's police officer job. There is a suspenseful subplot to the story that ramps things up in the second half and kept the pages turning! From beginning to end it was a fast paced, sexy and entertaining story. 5 stars!

As usual Sidney delivers on plot with PASSION & ACTION was a huge bonus in this one!! What i found completely amazing was her ability to capture brutal honest emotions between a married couples relationship which has lacked communication At many levels more specically sexual desires!!! This little story had so many elements to it that loved ! It could be the entertaining modern day ice breaker book to help couples remember the early easy years together and remind them how simple it could be to open lines of comminication because life is too short sometimes not live in the moment without taking a few brave risks!!!!Sidney has a very down to earth relatable way of makibg her stories appeal to you! Any work by her is a great read!!She did an interesting job of bringing pieces of her everyday life into this story in so many ways from her dedication all thru the book ! I know this because i follow her on FB & twitter & i pay attention! IT WAS A PLEASURE to finally read about Cole &Tanya Westling! All your swat& police research for the story was well incorporated into their story!! Thank you for another great piece of work. Your readers & followers will love this.....;) CONGRATS &continued success!!! traci westling........
