Overview

A collection of eight gay, erotic short stories taking place in different settings. The stories are paired off into science-fiction, fantasy, modern, and urban fantasy. Each are self-contained works that have different characters and different plots. Some characters have just met while others are familiar lovers or in established long-term relationships.

Below are a description of each short story found in this collection.

The Offer: Julio Alvarez thinks Aman Kasmir came to see him to get his prosthetics examined, but he has an ulterior motive.

Hours and Minutes: Leon the bounty hunter makes a pit stop to visit his AI lover Oliver and ask him a question he’s thought about asking for some time.

The Tome’s Ending: In exchange for magical powers, Taishi makes a pact with an Old One, Kohdon, to destroy the paladin, Tristan, who swore to destroy him. As Taishi spends more time with Tristan and develops feelings for him, he's not sure he can follow through.

The New Path: Remi, a knight for the lord's army, is mortally wounded in combat. Naseem, a magician who has to keep his magic a secret, saves him from death, but can't heal him completely. When Remi is declared dead, the pair try to decide their next move. Make his survival known and continue having Naseem live in secret, or run away together, but leaving Remi's sister Nadia behind.

The Collection: Eli invites Ryo to his apartment so he can ask Ryo to be exclusive with him. He’s hidden away anything embarrassing relating to his slutty, party-boy past, but he’s not sure how long he can keep his giant sex toy collection a secret.

Relaxations: Grace’s daughter Sophia goes away to college. Jacob finds himself trying to comfort both Grace and her father, Darius, while trying to run Darius’ business on his own. Noticing how much Jacob does for his family and business, Darius offers Jacob a relaxing break from his chaos.

New Memories: Rafael can’t remember anything before the last few days. He struggles to contain his intensifying feelings for Solomon, the man who was there when he awoke.

Second Chances: Hassan dies in battle protecting his orc lover, Turge, but he wakes up to a domestic life with Turge. While he’s unsure of why this is happening, he’s overjoyed to be in a peaceful time with his Turge. Hassan doesn’t ask any questions before running into his lover’s arms and pushing him into bed.

The short stories average 5k words each and total a little over 40,000 words.

I really enjoyed all but one of the short stories in this collection, and I think they could all be developed into a novella or full-length novel. The characters are sweet and engaging, and sometimes a little quirky. There is likely something for everyone here. Stories include science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary themes. Some are more angsty than others, but all are entertaining. These are pretty short, so there is little in the way of character background, and I missed that. I want to know more about these characters, their situations, how they met, what their lives are like, how they got to be who they are, etc. I hope the author decides to develop some of these shorts into longer stories.
