This has to be one of the best books I've read in awhile. Took me a bit to get over all the spelling errors though. All I can say is be ready for a cliff hanger and have the next book ready to read!!

A new take on vampires set in a small town in Mississippi. The main character, Alivia, comes to Silent Bend after the death of the father she never knew. She is a strong resourceful woman now faced with the fact that her father was a vampire directly descended from the first vampire, and she is royalty even though she is human at the present time. That's enough of a spoiler. This is an exciting romp through a new vampire history. I usually don't review books that end in cliffhangers, but this is well worth the read. The characters are well formed and you start to really care about them and the eventual end of this series. There WILL be a war, I'm sure, and it will be very interesting to see how Alivia fares in her new world. I'm off to start reading book 2 in this interesting series. Forget everything you've known about vampires as you enter this new world. Enjoy.

I picked this book as I needed a new series to tide me over until my other series dropped the next book. I was so surprised with this author and this series, it was sooo good. The characters are well identified and the plot is good. I went from wanting a series to tide me over to buying the entire series and anticipating the next book.

House of Royals was a completely new and original vampire story. It was just the right story, exactly when I needed something fresh and new. Something about Taylor's writing style just clicked. I found the pace absolutely perfectly balanced with the story telling. It was a slow builder but all of a sudden I was completely reeled in and had me totally hooked. One of those reads that you want to turn past the last page and find more, or in my case, beg for an ARC of book two House of Pawns to find out what happens nexts. FYI, House of Pawns is coming out December 15, 2015. This was my first read by Keary Taylor but as you can tell it won’t be my last. I received this copy of House of Royals from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for a honest review

I enjoyed this author's previous angel series, so when this book came out, I instantly one-clicked it on Amazon. I'm glad I got this book. It was good. There were some things that happened in the book you can see coming, but the end was a total plot twist that left me craving the sequel. I have to know what happens next! I mean, vampires! Vampire hunters! Rogue vampires, and bitchy vampires! What could be better than that? I am giving this book five glittery stars for being a great book and a total surprise for me. I will be stalking this author until she produces the sequel!

I received this ARC of House of Royals from the author, Keary Taylor, in exchange for an honest review. After discovering the father she never knew had passed away, Alivia Ryan moved to small town Silent Bend to inherit the estate her father had left her, only the small quiet town was not as it seemed. Soon after Alivia moves into the mansion, meeting Rath, her father’s servant who seems to have some secrets of his own, does she discover that the quiet town she thought she moved to is indeed occupied by Vampires. A near-death experience while encountering the handsome, self-proclaimed protector of the town, Ian Ward, complicates things beyond compare. While their romance builds, the unique characters play their part, the mystery keeps you on your toes and a legend brought to life all whirled into one incredible story, it will have you coming back for more.  Although I am not a fan of vampires, I would have to say the House of Royals book is one incredible read, I was certainly not disappointed with anything this story had to offer. Keary Taylor has thought this story out to perfection, writing with an outstanding imagination, creating her own breed of vampires, a solid image of the scene down to every detail, and strong leading characters. The storyline is indeed an interesting one and the book is very different to anything I have ever read, I cannot wait to continue the story with the next book.

I received this ARC of House of Royals from the author, Keary Taylor, in exchange for an honest review. House of Royals was an easy book to fall into. The writing is rich and descriptive with a hint of mystery. Alivia Ryan has just discovered that the father she never knew has passed away and left her his sprawling southern estate. She moves in only to discover it and the seemingly sleepy town of Silent Bend are not as they seem. Soon Alivia discovers that the town is manipulated by vampires. Keary Taylor does an excellent job of making these vampires her own. She tweaks the lore enough to make it original and intriguing again and no, none of them sparkle. The hierarchy of the vampire world is intricate and well explained. I don’t want to give too much of this away as learning about them is half the fun of the book. The other half of the fun is Ian Ward. His parents were killed in an attack and he spends his free time hunting them down and keeping the town safe. Upon arriving at the town Ian almost kills Alivia, believing she is about to turn. This was the only out of place moment of the book. Their first meeting was off somehow. Alivia didn’t seem scared enough, traumatic events happen and her reactions to them seem too collected. The rest of the book more than makes up for this moment though. Trust me. Ian and Alivia are adorable together with their little power plays and flirtations. All the characters fit nicely and are individual making you want to learn more about them. Rath was Alivia’s father helper and he has some mysteries of his own. And Lula, I loved Lula. She is Ian’s not-so-sweet crazy grandma. Jasmine is the unofficial leader of the vampire house in town and she is manipulative and fun to read. The ending was crazy and I can’t wait to read the next book to see where that goes! Great start to a fun and intriguing series. Highly recommend!
