This is not a cliffhanger! Laura had faced the worst lfe could throw at you. She nursed her mother tthough a long illness. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, her BOY friend walked away. He wanted to enjoy life while he was young and he did not foresee much fun in her near future. Upon her mother's death and surviving cancer Laura needed time to recover. In her youth her family stayed in a wee town a ferry ride away from Boston, right on the Atlantic Ocean. Laura was drawn back to a place where her family had spent happy summers until the last one when she was sixteen and Matt kissed her... once. Matt lost his beloved wife, Valerie to ovarian cancer. He had decided when she died that he would remain a bachelor until his sons graduated1. His wife's death had hit the family hard. Although his father's move into the home meant that caring for his sons while he worked, it also meant that he had a son who regressed in speaking resulting in a dehabiltating stutter. Matt never wanted to have his sons go through the snguish that followed his wife's death. It was easier to not delve into any relationship. Laura did not know it but she had found a man ho wanted the same thing... NO relationship. Never ever tempt fate. As soon as you determine that you will never do something, fate will trip you up. At what point of dating do you confide in secrets? Worries? Fears? When do you say, I love you? Or do you? I recommend this story. It was loving and honest. I want to meet ROMEO!!!

I realize it is January, but this reminded me of the kind of book you take outside and sit under a tree to enjoy the moments to yourself.

But it gets much better when visiting the beach for healing and then finding love! Hard subjects have their place in everyone's life, glad to find a true happy ending to this story.

This is a wonderful story with very likeable, believable characters! Really enjoyed the setting (a small, friendly beach town) and also the subplot about the main character being a breast cancer survivor. Plus, I always enjoy stories that include a couple of fun kids! Can't wait to read the next in the series!

I loved this story. The characters were developed well and it tackled realistically but gracefully some difficult topics. At the same time it was romantic. I look forward to reading more of her books!

I read books by the author in another series where characters from this series were included. I knew I had to read books from the Pilgrim Cove Series. This was an emotional story that was most enjoyable. It was a book hard to put down from beginning to end. I look forward to reading the others in the series. I'm especially looking forward to the return of the missing son, Lisa's love and Katie's father. LA-TXN
