This is a wonderful little book for children. Bullying is a very real problem in today's school systems. Many kids don't know what to do when this is happening to them and they just bottle their feelings up inside and just deal with it. A lot of times teachers or other adults don't even get involved and just turn a blind eye to what is happening. This book goes to show what can happen when there is a teacher/adult that really shows they care and takes a stand with wisdom to help the child gain their self esteem back. Because of the stand the teacher makes for her student, Little Elmer has a happy ending and makes many friends in the end. I highly recommend this book if you know a child that may be getting picked on at school. It may be a way to get them to open up about what is going on and help them through that difficult time.
