What People are Saying About This
Want a way to help your children learn simple verses using music as the peg to hang them on? This nicely done book puts many, many verses from the book of Psalms to simple, original or classic tunes. The arrangements are very simple, and the beginning pianist should be able to play most of them. They are short enough to fit easily into your daily devotionals. Research proves that words put to music form powerful connections in the brain, and songs are much more easily recalled than mere words. (Wendy Orth, Voice of Hope Newsletter for the Massachusetts Homeschool Organization of Parent Educators, Mar/Apr 1999)
Sometimes, or often, finding a song for children to sing in Sunday school or Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a challenging task. Will they like the songs we pick out? Can they learn the words easily? Is the tune familiar enough? Is the tune simple enough for the children to learn?
"Donna Moss has a book that can help fill that void. This book contains 150 short songs, each one based on a verse from each of the 150 psalms. Repetition is key in many of the songs. Very few have more than two sharps or flats in their key, so there is an ease for accompaniment-or for children beginning to learn a musical instrument. Most are either original tunes composed by Ms. Moss or popular rote tunes adapted by her. Great!
...A wonderful resource book. It has Scripture verses put to music, special book tips, and an alphabetical index in the back for easy reference. All of these elements make this book easy and fun to use. How I Praise You! 150 Little Psalms in Song is an economical addition to any home library. It is great for a family to learn Scripture in song and remember it long! (Christina Wagner, European Home School Newsletter, June 1999)
