At sixteen Willow Harper learned a few valuable life lessons that molded her into the uptight, commitment-phobic woman she is today. Determined to have the security she sorely lacked as a child, Willow's sole focus is on furthering her career. No time for love, lust or romance - Willow is All Business. So when a chance to secure her future means a trip to secluded Lake Howling, Oregon, she leaps at the opportunity. Sure, it isn't New York City, but Willow's only planning on being there a few days, then she'll be back to the safety and anonymity of the city. But when the very man who's been haunting her fantasies for years appears in Lake Howling, suddenly Willow's carefully planned strategy is in tatters.
Buster Griffin is sexy, brooding and infuriating, yet somehow has the entire small town's inhabitants wrapped around his little finger. He's made it clear he won't be playing by Willow's rules, and now it's not only her career that's in jeopardy, it's her heart too.
Because Buster won't accept anything less than a complete takeover of Willow, and Willow's terrified of giving up control.

About the Author
Wendy Vella is a lover of all things romantic, and with a voracious appetite for reading across all romance genre's, she eventually settled on the Regency era to begin her writing career. She penned her first novel at eighteen though she says it will never make an appearance further than the closet in which it currently resides.
After having her two children, she then joined Romance Writers of New Zealand and started honing her chosen craft by entering competitions with some success and attending conferences, until eventually, she was ready to publish her first novel.
With several of her Regency historical novels reaching bestseller status on Amazon, she has recently moved into contemporary romance. Her first series is set in Oregon in the fictional town of Lake Howling, and she has enjoyed the change of genre immensely, though is quick to add that she will still be writing historical, as the colorful and sometimes turbulent waters of Regency London are still her first love.
Wendy is a sucker for a happy ending, having secured her own. She has been married to her own dark, brooding hero for 30 years and shares her home with two wonderful children, two dogs and anyone else who happens to be visiting at the time. Born and raised in a rural area in the North Island of New Zealand, Wendy loves the beaches and lush green rolling hills of her homeland and is proud to call herself a very patriotic Kiwi!

Happy Buster found his happily ever after , love this town sr
There are a lot of typos and misspelled names. Story was ok, but I felt Buster’s personality was a little different in this one. I really can’t put my finger on exactly why though.
Recently found this series and I am enjoying the stories immensely... Each of the books revolves around the members of a small mountain town in Oregon where everybody knows everybody and everybody knows everybody's business. Well thought out story lines, well developed characters and quick reads that have enough content to keep you turning pages... While the stories revolve around the small town people the characters take you to New York City, Texas, Denver and other locales so that things keep moving in interesting ways... Some funny, some dangerous and some sad... Think I am currently on Book 6 and will continue till the series ends.. Reads of about 200 Nook pages each and worth the time...
I loved this story by Wendy Vella! This is actually the first book in this series I've read, but because the books are written as a whole book part of a series I didn't feel like I had missed out by reading them out of order. Buster Griffin can be a little grumpy and abrasive, but even so those who know him seem to love him and women find him extremely sexy. He loves living in a small town and being close to his long time friends and family. After living in New York being home was just what he wanted and needed. Willow Harper learned life lessons the hard way and found peace in her organized and structured life. She had her life mapped out and as far as she was concerned Buster Griffin was getting in the way of those plans. Who knew the man of her fantasies would be this infuriating man that blocked her at every turn? I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of the books in this series. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
