Ross Carlilse, Earl of Spalding has dedicated his life to the crown, but discovers secrets that may get him accused of treason. He escapes a French boat and is found by Grace Alden who has been in hiding for 10 years. They make a deal that she'll help Ross get to London if he helps Grace regain her son's inheritance. This book has a lot of intrigue, slow burn sexual tension and love, and even murder. The writing was excellent, but I didn't love either character. Ross started out as a bit of an alpha-hole and seemed to think too much about getting lucky when he was on the run for treason. Grace (Susan) had been in hiding in a small town for 10 years after her brother in-law tried to kill her but once she went back to London she kept endangering herself and her life for a man that she barely knew. This doesn't seem very realistic after being betrayed by her brother in-law. Ross was honest from the start about why he was blamed for treason, but I'm not sure I'd believe such an implausible sounding storing, especially when I had a son to protect. I was happy for them in the end, and very curious about his brother's story.

Grace lives a fake life, so she can protect his son. However, due to the last news, she needs to go out of her hidden place. Ross lives a nightmare when trying to get to his country to prove himself loyal to the crown. Grace proves to be a very resourceful woman when she has to help Ross escape the soldiers at the inn. She is loyal, trustful and she would do anything for her son. And for Ross, even getting her life at risk. The storyline is great and very interesting. The characters are very lovable. I like the mix of intrigue, action, and romance in the book. Another delightful story by Anna Harrington. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

I absolutely loved this story by Anna Harrington! It is the fourth book in the Capturing the Carlisles series and definitely worth reading. Ross Carlisle the Earl of Spalding would do anything for his country, but in doing so finds himself marked as a traitor and fighting not only for his life, but his and his family's reputation as well. Stumbling upon a widowed woman and her son in a small fishing town after nearly drowning finds them both turning to each other for help. They soon realize that they have feelings for each other and no matter what happens they will do everything they can to stay together. I've really enjoyed reading all about the Carlisle family and their enthusiasm for danger and love. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

I loved Ross and Grace's story!! Grace has lived the last 10 yrs in hiding. Fearing for her life as well as that of her son, she has lived the quiet life of a widow. That all changes the night that Ross barges into her home. Having jumped off a ship to save his life, Ross needs some place to hide so that the men chasing him, don't get ahold of the documents he has stolen. Ross needs help getting to London, so Grace strikes a deal with him. She will help him and in exchange, Ross will help her to get her son's inheritance. Neither of them counted on the attraction that would bloom between them. Acting on it would complicate things, but can they resist? As danger starts to surround them, their feelings grow to be so much more than just attraction. Can this partnership that should end when both parties get what they needed, turn into a lifetime commitment? I am so glad that Harrington continued with this series!! It has been one of my favorites and I was sad to think it had ended. This was a great addition to the series! It also appears that we have several more H/H which we were introduced to in this and earlier books that we will hopefully get stories for! My fingers are crossed!!

You just have to love the Carlisles. I read the other books in this series and each of the characters is very different, but nevertheless detailed and interesting. Ross and Grace have secrets. Ross seems to be Graces chance to ensure her son's birthright, getting his inheritance back, and Grace on the other hand can help Ross to get back to London in order for him to clear his name. The characters are so likable, intelligent, protective and you can nearly 'feel' their emotion. The storyline is well developed. A joy to read about their journey. The danger they are in heightens the books attraction. Even if you haven't read any if the previous books, you can read that without doing so. A clear reading recommendation! Those Carlisles are a family, I can tell. Every book is better than the one before with unique stories and different characters. Enjoy this series.

How the Earl Entices, the fourth in the Capturing the Carlisles, tells the story of Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding and Grace Alden. It is a fantastic tale, a fast-paced blend of intrigue, action, and romance. The chemistry between Ross and Grace sizzles. Their interaction provides some humor in a story that is filled with danger and drama (for both of them). Ross and Grace are strong, courageous, and protective of those they care about. They both have secrets they don’t want to share. Ross is a diplomat accused of treason. He needs to avoid capture to bring evidence to prove his innocence and stop the real traitor. Grace has lived a secret identity for ten years to protect her son. They come to an agreement that she will help him get safely to London if he will help her win her son’s rightful inheritance when he accomplishes his mission. What ensues is an edge-of-your-seat adventure with twists and turns and a couple of hold-your-breath moments. I think this is the best yet in the series. Don’t miss it. I received an ARC of this book. I voluntarily reviewed it.

All I can say is Amazing! It is reading stories like this one that make me realize all over again why I love historical romances!! Anna Harrington has a gift for wonderful prose that always pulls you into the story with her descriptions and amazing characters. Intrigue, secrets, adventure and strong emotions will make you turn the pages to find out what will happen next! Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding and dedicated servant to England is in a bad situation. Captured and beaten so that he will give up secrets,, he is taken on a ship from France to England He gets his chance and jumps over the side. Of all places for him to come ashore, he ends up at Grace's cottage, where she has been hiding with her nine year old son and she recognizes him from the past. He is desperate to hide and get back to England and clear himself of the charge of treason. I truly loved Ross and Grace. They both had secrets and each agreed to help each other on their different quests which really brought them together. The attraction between the two came off the page and the humor and witty dialogue was enchanting. But you will need to read to find out if the two make it to England and find happiness with each other. Part of a series, this can be read as a stand alone. But trust me, you will want to read them all!! Lori Dykes

Ross is a diplomat on the run - from pretty much everybody. And Grace is a mother in hiding with her son. When these two meet, it's dramatic (raging storm, mistrust, and attraction). Both have a lot of secrets they are hiding, but the reader does not get to know everything upfront which I appreciated. No spoilers here, so you'll have to read the book to discover them! There are some moments of levity in the book that made me smile or laugh, but I would not consider this a romp. However, it was a fun book to read, and I was very curious to see exactly how each story line would wrap up. It wasn't obvious from the start how they'd get their HEA which made the reading more fun. This book is tied to others in a series but can easily be read as a stand alone. While some characters from the other books make an appearance, they are introduced and are not in the story a huge amount, so you will not be lost if you haven't read the others. I received this book at no charge from the publisher. My reviews and comments are my own.

This is a very entertaining and enjoyable romance. It has an engaging storyline and likable characters that share clever dialog and a slow simmering chemistry. Ross and Grace are a perfect match. They are both strong, smart, determined, loyal and protective of those they love. Both of these characters have secrets and danger stalks each of them for very different reasons. There is quite a bit of action and suspense as Ross, with Grace's help, works to reveal a murderer and a treasonous plot. I found this read quite fun and I liked it very much.

Grace is living in a very small seaside town with her young son. One night there is a terrible storm and she has taken her son to a neighbor's house so he would be safe. While she is trying to sleep, there is a noise. Not from the storm, but a knock. When the door opens an injured man breaks into her house with a gun and tells her he needs to rest a night and then he will leave. Grace sees his face and he looks familiar. The name he gives her is not the name she knows him by. Grace is also not who she seems. Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding has escaped from France with some documents that brands him a traitor to the Crown, unless he can get certain documents to the right people. Grace makes a deal with Ross that she will help him if he will help her get her son's inheritance . She will not tell Ross who she is. As far as everyone is concerned, she is dead and will be if her brother in law finds out she is still alive. When Ross is arrested, can Grace get the documents to set him free of will be hang ? Great book, full of mystery and intrigue. I loved and cared about Ross and Grace. They were wonderful characters. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. How The Earl Entices is the fourth book in Anna Harrington’s exciting Capturing The Carlisles series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I do recommend reading the entire series as they are very enjoyable to read. When Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spaulding breaks into Grace Alden’s simple fisherman’s cottage he was merely looking for shelter from the storm and an escape from those who are searching for him, he finds a whole lot more than that. Ten years ago Grace fled London in fear for her life and that of her unborn son. With Ross’s arrival she realizes that it’s time to take back what was hers and to claim her sons inheritance. Together they embark on a treacherous journey to London and the King’s court in order to prove Ross innocent of treason and claim the title belonging to Grace’s son. Nasty Villains, Treason, Murder, Blackmail, Loyalty, Love and sparkling dialogue will keep you reading way past your bedtime. Quite Steamy. ****My thoughts**** How the Earl Entices by Anna Harrington is a delightful way to start your day or end your night. Book 4 of “Capturing the Carlisles”, but it can be read as a stand alone. Journey with Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding and Grace Alden, both fled England for different reasons. One for his country the other yo save her son. Mow they make work together yo return safety back to England. Can Ross keep Grace’s son safe? Will secrets tear the newly blossoming second chance destroy their love and their lives? Not only their lives in jeopardy but their country Is as well. Filled with a bit everything, treason, yearning, deception, romance, a bit of mystery, suspense with lots of sparks flying off the pages, spies, a traitor, and intrigue, readers will be transported back to another time and place. Well written and brilliantly executed. The cast of characters are simply amazing, easy to fall in love with, flawed with an adorable nine year old, Ethan. The storyline flowed seamlessly and effortlessly. I enjoyed the connection between Grace, Ross and Ethan. Ross’s mission to save England, his good name, kept himself from being branded a traitor, and his desire to keep Grace and Ethan protected is legendary and leaves a warm and tingling feeling in readers. A few surprises adds to this mesmerizing tale of love and finding a HEA. Brilliant! An absolute delight to read, and a definite page turner. Well done, Ms. Harrington!! “I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.” Rating: 5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewer: AprilR

This was an amazing book with intrigue, sacrifice, family and of course, romance. Ross Carlisle, is a strong character, both in body and conviction. He is trying to convict a traitor, but gets accused of the same. He meets Grace on a stormy night, hurt and exhausted, and is immediately intrigued by her. Grace has been hiding in the country for many years, and recognizes him from her London days. Both have given up on the idea of finding their HEA, but you know what happens when fate gets in the way... Grace is also a very strong woman, having spent many years protecting her child, but its not until Ross arrives and they embark on their journey, that she comes to realize how strong she can be. I highly recommend this book, and have since bought the other books in this series.
