I'm 17 years old and i'm ready to build my first motor. I have a 1985 monte carlo ss and a 350 short block on an engine stand in my garage. Being that I am still in high school and live at home, and money isn't easy to come by. The engine builds in the book have given me an idea how to go about building a good street and strip motor cheap. I also got a better understanding how the theory of cam lobe spread and other technical hints and tricks. The only thing this book doesn't do is give you torq specs or the order of how to put things together, but any one with common sense can find those out. The book also gives you some comparisions of the top name brand parts to a lesser known brand and shows you that top end parts aren't always the best. If you are going to build your first motor, young or old, you will need this book to gain the best understanding of the enginr theory and how to apply it to your own motor. You can also be sure that when you build it you'll have done it right.
