About the Author

Don Jean is a marketing and promotions professional, author, and visionary entrepreneur. He was born in Brooklyn NY of Haitian American descent and he attended Lincoln High school where he lettered in baseball and football. Upon graduation he migrated to Washington DC and attended Howard University. At Howard he distinguished himself as a leader among his peers by founding the Howard University Entrepreneur Society and advocating the cause of entrepreneurship. He also excelled in the classroom graduating with a 3.1 GPA. As an entrepreneur Mr. Jean has founded several notable companies including The (Spring) Water Company (1992), University Records/Promotions which ultimately sold more than 7 million records (Pure Soul, Dru Hill, Mya) while dominating the black college hip hop market, and Bornoriginal (Miami). Don Jean currently resides dually in Miami and New York, and he has recently produced two of Miami' biggest Hip Hop Concerts ("Summerfest" 08, "Live Your Life"09), featuring artists like Lil Wayne, Akon, Keyshia Cole, T.I. and Jeezy. As a service professional Mr. Jean has managed national marketing campaigns for companies like Blackground Records and Hewlett Packard. He has also developed curriculum and instructed several lifeskills oriented summer programs for young people.
A proud father of five Mr. Jean was married for more than 12 years, and remains rooted in the service of his community. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Caribbean American Society of New York, a vibrant non profit organization, aimed at mentoring young people in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
