About the Author

Some have called her the "Kid Whisperer."

Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Joanne grew up with people of multiple ethnic backgrounds. One of her most treasured memories are those of playing in the sugar cane fields with her brothers and cousins regardless of the prickly fibers they would get from rubbing against the cane stalks. In doing so, they would get in a little bit of trouble from their parents because it was forbidden to play in those fields. Being kids, they would sneak off and do it anyway but would get found out about when they complained about the pain they endured from the prickly fibers which would only become apparent during bathing.

Joanne never forgot her childhood, nor how children think. She always put herself in a child's point of view when speaking to a child/teenager - thus the nickname, "kid whisperer." Her strongest skill and most valued ability is being able to get young people to make the right decisions to bring about an improved situation with their parents. The parental recommendations stated in her stories worked to create happier children and parents. All one needs to do is to apply what is recommended and watch the positive results unveil itself over the course of a couple of weeks -- but for some it only took days.

For the last 20 years, Joanne has made it her priority in life to help children. Through three non-profit organizations, she has helped hundreds of children and families bringing harmony into their lives. She traveled to Italy, England, Canada, the Philippines and throughout the United States lecturing on the subject of education and the raising of children.

Joanne's passion to help youngsters continues unabated. Now she is sharing her experience and knowledge by writing the stories of her adventures with some of these amazing young people through her parenting help books. All the stories are true, only the names and locations have been changed in order to protect the privacy of these people.
