About the Author
Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Joanne grew up with people of multiple ethnic backgrounds.
For more than 20 years, Joanne has made it her priority in life to help children. She never forgot her childhood, nor how children think especially when troubled. She always put herself in a child's point of view when speaking to a child/teenager - thus the nickname, "Kid Whisperer." Her strongest skill and most valued ability is being able to get young people to make the right decisions to bring about an improved situation with their parents. The parental recommendations stated in her stories worked to create happier family members living in harmony. By implementing her recommendations, positive results will unveil itself over the course of a couple of weeks -- but for some it only took days.
She has also spent over 10-years working in the non-profit sector solely to help children and their families. Her first non-profit establishment was an after-school program where youngsters could come for free to get help with their personal and educational problems. Not only was her program successful, it turned out there were many more youngsters wanting to attend the program than could be accommodated.
Due to her success with these teens, within a year, she found herself running an international education organization. Now she would help more children on a much broader scale. She traveled to Italy, England, Canada, the Philippines and throughout the United States lecturing on the subject of educating and raising children. That led to her next endeavor: the establishment of another non-profit organization in which she worked directly with children and families, focusing especially on children and teenagers who were too difficult for others to help.
Joanne's passion to help youngsters continues unabated. Now she is sharing her experience and knowledge by writing the stories of her adventures with some of these amazing young people. All the stories are true, only the names and locations have been changed in order to protect the privacy of these people.
