"A bright new voice in contemporary romance." --Lori Wilde, New York Times bestselling author

Against all odds, the Sorentino sisters saved their family's rundown New Mexico ranch, but the youngest has a dream that just may ruin their hard-earned peace--unless a certain sexy cowboy lawyer changes her mind. . .

Jenna Sorentino is as independent as they come. Despite her wild past, she's grown up enough to keep quiet about the identity of her baby's daddy, go to night college--and hide her plan to escape tiny Catcher Creek. She's also stopped dreaming of happily ever after--except in the case of gorgeous, rugged, Santa Fe native Matt Roenick. Too bad the oil rights attorney acts like he barely knows she's alive. . .

Matt knows only too well that Jenna's alive--in fact, she's driving him crazy with desire. But Matt's got his reasons for resisting her. And when her son's father shows up, those reasons multiply. Trouble is, Jenna's secrets are more complicated than he imagined, and forgetting her isn't as easy as he'd hoped. Matt knows life can be messy as hell. For Jenna, maybe it's time he got dirty. . .

About the Author

Melissa Cutler is a Southern California native living in beautiful San Diego with her husband, two children, and a nervous Siamese cat. She spent her teenage years on the floor of her local bookstore's romance aisle, making tough choices about which novels to buy with the measly paycheck from her filing clerk job. Her love for happily-ever-after stories continued into adulthood, and in 2008, she decided to take her romance novel devotion to the next level by penning one herself. She now divides her time between her dual passions for writing sexy cowboy contemporaries and edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense.

Hope to Rope a Real Man is my first time visiting Catcher Creek. Wow! Melissa Cutler immediately caught me up with the latest events happening with the Sorentino sisters. This story mainly surrounds the youngest sister, Jenna, and she's helped plan her sister's wedding. The day before the wedding, the situation turns a little desperate. It's good that the lawyer friend she's been crushing on is there to lend a helping hand. Ahh...Matt Roenick! Can I add the words “dreamy” and “romantic” to his description of being a “sexy cowboy lawyer”? As a newbie to this series, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this story. Ms. Cutler tackles some sensitive issues throughout the plot. One of these issues centers around Matt, and I appreciate that she offers the male's perspective on this particular subject as the male's emotions regarding this matter are often skimmed in stories. My heart broke for Matt when I found out why he doesn't date single moms. Jenna is a single mom to an adorable little boy, which makes this whole situation entirely sticky. I loved Jenna's mind-set and inner strength from the start. She truly just wants to make a good life for her and her son. How to Rope a Real Man is filled with family, friendship, heart-tugging realistic situations, and even has a little suspense. Matt and Jenna together? Oh yeah, it gets pretty steamy! Deliciously steamy! Thank you, Melissa Cutler, for creating fun scenes for them!  *I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

This book was a good wrap up to the series. Jenna and Matt are both damaged emotionally and carry their own baggage. Jenna has her secrets; the most important one is who her son’s father is. Matt wants to be a father so badly that he can hardly function with the fear of loving a woman who has a child that could never be his own. He fights his feelings for Jenna until she finally breaks through his walls. There's a lot of emotion in this book. At times I found myself holding my breath, my own heart breaking for both of them, but especially for Matt. They both let each other down when they need each other the most. It was a good read, I was sad to see the series end.

~Reviewed by ANGELA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog I was so excited to finally read more of the Sorentino sisters. Jenna Sorentino is the last sister to finally get her happy-ever-after. Ms. Cutler did a magnificent job with this third installment of the series. Actually, it is the best of the three by far. If you read the previous books, you know that Matt avoided Jenna like a plague. I had no idea why he was so uptight when it comes to her. His reasons why took me by surprise. At thirty-three years old, Matt is successful in his career but not so much when it comes to relationships. Matt has always wanted a lot more than what any woman can give. Unfortunately, this has left him jaded. Jenna the youngest of the Sorentino sisters certainly grew up faster than anyone. Having a baby at such a young age changed her from the wild party girl to a very responsible woman. So much of her life is out in the open yet there are things not even her sisters know. In this book, everything about Jenna will be outed for everyone to see. And as her past comes back to haunt her, the town will get an awaking of their own. There was not a dull moment in this book. I loved delving into the town’s intrigues and of course Matt and Jenna’s story. They are perfect for each other. I actually didn’t think so before, but Cutler did a great job matching them up. I love that they couldn’t get keep their hands off each other, and I have to tell you, these two were pretty damn hot. Who would’ve thought Matt was romantic and what surprised me is that he is a dirty talker. You know what they say about the quiet ones. =) I’m not sure what the plans are for this series and I’m hoping there will be more. I think Cutler can go in so many directions and maybe add a spinoff to this small town read. Jake for one; I am dying to read more of. He will come to Catcher Creek for one of the sister’s wedding. He has a rough, tough and very sexy vibe going on. This city cop has a lot to offer this small town, but he may have his heart set to go to Matt’s home town of Santa Fe. Like I said…Maybe a spin off. Whoa....this book was smokin' hot!!!  This is a fantastic third installment in the Catcher Creek series.  It is a stand alone book but i I recommend reading the previous two book also in this series.  I love all of the Sorentino sisters but Jenna is probably my favorite.  She is independent, spunky, speaks her mind and isn't afraid to go after what she wants.....a career and a sexy cowboy!!!  I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

This book was a gift from a friend. I love Melissa Cutler’s books, because she writes characters that are as close as real friends.  “How to Rope a Real Man” is the 3rd book in the Catcher Creek series, but the series can be read out of order and still be a wonderful reading escape. Talk about secrets…Jenna, the third Sorentino sister who sure can keep secrets.  She wants to have the life of her dreams for herself and her son, but then her secrets begin to unravel.  As her secrets are exposed, she finds herself in situations she never wanted to face.  Meanwhile, Jenna falls for Matt a sexy lawyer who has secrets of his own.  Can the two share their secrets and build a life together or will they walk away from love?  The excitement because of the secrets had me reading until the wee hours of the morning…This book is the perfect combination of love, yummy men, and suspense.   I loved this book; I wish there were more books to the Catcher Creek series.

How To Rope A Real Man by Melissa Cutler is book 3 in the Catcher Creek Series. This is the youngest sister Jenna's story (along with Matt, of course!!). Jenna and Matt, I'm not sure there are 2 characters who are more perfect for each other. Both have secrets, secrets they don't share and that could keep them from being together. Jenna is a single Mom and has a crush on Matt but he seems immune to her. Matt isn't immune, he's just protecting his heart. He doesn't get involved with a single Moms because when things don't work out he loses more than just the relationship, he loses the kids as well. Now, I've said this with each book in this series, the characters are real and so well written, complex but easy to understand. You feel connected and invested in every word! This book is sweet and romantic, suspensful at times and you will sit on the edge of your seat and possibly lose a little sleep because you won't want to put it down, I know I was up way past my bed time reading this one!

How to Rope a Real Man, Melissa Cutler Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews. This is one of a connected series of stand alone books about the Sorentino sisters. I'm a sucker for these cowboy romances so even though I’ve not read any of the other novels I requested this. Jenna, along with their sisters, had a harsh upbringing. They've always stuck by each other and looked after themselves, having feckless, unsupporting parents who weren't to be replied on. Jenna ran wild for a while in her teens, but after finding herself pregnant at nineteen she turned her life around. She doesn't want anyone to know who Tommy's father is, and has kept quiet for all those years, disregarding gossip and speculation from the small minded townsfolk. She's kept other secrets too – and the time is coming when she's going to have to tell her sisters about them. Tommy is now five and suddenly his father is back in town. Along with organising sister Amy's wedding that's been a real headache, Jenna really doesn't need this, fears for her and Tommy's safety, and it puts forward all her plans to leave town...she's too scared to stay now but is running away ever the right decision? Matt, subject of her attention and secret desires for the past eight months that he's been in town – is attracted to Jenna. Though Jenna has made it clear she's like to get to know him better, he's remained polite and simply friendly in a non romantic way. She's assumed he's not interested. He's staying back though as he's vowed never to get involved with a single mum again, having been heartbroken at leaving the children when past relationships broke up. Is Jenna enough to change his mind though, she seems so much more than anyone before her? He feels really strongly about her, but then again his dad always says doing the right thing is often hard. Trouble is what is the right thing in this case? Then after a conversation with someone at the wedding he comes over to Jenna and kisses her passionately and things get Very Heated from there! There's lots of action and drama here from wedding disruptions, small town gossips, threats of violence and all the secrets both Jenna and Matt seem to be keeping. Then when some of the secrets come out suddenly, there's heartbreak, harsh works and tears. I really felt for Jenna – she'd been trying her best for herself and Tommy and yet just when she and Matt seemed to have moved forward into a relationship, in what seems like a heartbeat she lost everything. Its touch and go whether there's a way back for her and Matt. Stars:four, good solid story, but probably a one off read for me. ARC supplied by Netgalley.

How To Rope A Real Man by Melissa Cutler is the third book in her Catcher Creek series. All of them can be read as stand alones; but to really understand each one of the sisters and their family, it helps to read them in order. This is Jenna and Matt's story after months of dancing around each other. Melissa has written a book that is filled with tenderness, sexy times, and love. Readers finally get to find out what secrets Jenna has been keeping and why Matt has kept himself away from Jenna. The scene where Matt is talking to Jenna about his past are so tender and touching. You really feel both Matt and Jenna's honest emotions. Matt's unresolved emotional baggage flared at a critical time in their relationship; and I was on the edge of my seat to see how they were going to resolve the impact this had on the relationship. Jenna's secrets touch on a serious topic that is not often discussed in romance books. Melissa handled this topic with gentleness and honesty from the characters point of view. My favorite scene was when Jenna was supposed to be studying with her friend Carrie via Skype at Matt's house. Jenna and Matt began writing dirty notes to each other which then proceeded to stick figures. What a joy to read because I was laughing and getting hot at the same time. There were other scenes with Matt and Jenna that were filled with sexy banter that showed how well these two were so perfect for each other. You can't beat sexy and honest all mixed up together between two people that are falling in love. Melissa has pulled all of the Sorentino sisters lives together and give each one of them an HEA that includes their dreams coming true for their lives. Thank you, Melissa, for a great ride! I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

My favorite of Catcher Creek books!  In reading the first two books in this series, the glimpses we get of Jenna, I knew her story was going to be a doozy.  Cutler did not let me down.  Jenna has had a rough life and been through a LOT before Matt comes into it.  It was no surprise to me that she was on the defensive with men, I was glad to see her walls crumble and her giving Matt a chance.   What I didn’t expect, but fit this story OH so well, was Matt’s painful past and history.  And how he viewed himself.  I just wanted to hug him all the time.  Even when he was making me crazy with his stupid ways of thinking, I wanted to smack him and then hug him.   My attention was grabbed from moment one to discover Jenna’s secrets and watch her work through starting a relationship with Matt.  As expected of the author, this book was not a cookie cutter version of the secret baby trope, No, it was so much more and so different.  There is a lot going on in Jenna’s life at the opening of the book, She’s hiding lots of secrets from her sister’s, her son, and the town in general.  It was exciting as I read along to learn more of these secrets, Jenna’s reasons for keeping them, her feelings about the secrets and the reactions of those around her when they discovered them.  Matt was holding his own secrets close to heart and afraid to share them. I won’t spoil the story by going into specifics but there were so so many moments in this story that I loved.  Watching the sisters, Amy, Rachel, and Jenna finally get to KNOW each other in ways they had never been open to before was one of the best.   Halloween was one of my favorite moments as well, it still stands out in my mind as if I have just finished the book.     How to Rope a Real Man was a FUN story, not fun as in HAHA grins and giggles, but FUN in the “you never knew what to expect next to derail things” kind of way.  I love it when plot twists take me by surprise, and the identity and history of Jenna’s sons paternity did just that.  I love it even more when the characters are first at a loss as to how to handle the new twists and turns of their journey.   Jenna and Matt BOTH had a lot of growing up, for lack of a better word, to do before they could realize how perfect their union would be.  The struggles they went through both separately and together made their story more realistic.   Cutler finished this series with a downright emotional story which only further proved just how STRONG Jenna was and that sometimes how we view ourselves is all that is standing in the way of happiness.  Thankfully Matt showed himself as the MAN he was always meant to be and broke through his own vision of the future.   While, I am sad to see the Sorentino sisters stories come to an end, I can not wait to see what amazing things Melissa Cutler has in the works. I know future characters are going to be just as amazing and offer wonderful stories.

This book might be Melissa's best book yet! Fantastic story, gripping suspense and by the way, a really HOT guy by the name of Matt who decides to take the bull by the horns and go for it with Jenna Sorentino. She's got a few secrets and so does Matt but together they can do anything. There is also a little side story involving Tara, Matt's sister, and a friend of Jenna's family that I think deserves a story too. This book keeps you entranced, so much that I would get irritated if my reading was interrupted. So glad that I discovered this author last year and cannot wait for more stories.

For months they have been tap dancing around each other but finally Jenna and Matt know that can't live without each other. Now if the past will just stay in the past. Secrets and insecurities are revealed in this wonderfully heartwarming story showing us all how facing things head on is the only way to go. This is a well written, fast paced book that you will thoroughly enjoy! Highly recommended.

Jenna and Matt were fun to watch. On the surface, they both appear so grown-up and put together. Yet, when they begin to try to move forward with their lives the surface cracks to reveal that they both have some growing up left to do. Jenna learns she needs to rely on her family and let others help her. Matt learns he needs to take chances and quit feeling sorry for himself. Each is able to support the other as they come to these revelations and together they work through their issues. To complicate matters, Jenna is a single mother. Tommy is a fun, vibrant kid that makes the story richer for his inclusion. Though I was not surprised by the reveal of Tommy’s father, I was surprised by the reason’s Jenna opted to keep it a secret. Her reasons demonstrate fully that things are not always what they seem and traditions and beliefs are deeply rooted in small towns. Cutler addresses serious topics with grace and thoughtfulness. I was disappointed that Amy and Rachel were not included more. In the previous two books they’ve learned to work together an act like a family. Jenna’s desire to do it all herself seems to fly in the face of the earlier lessons. However, it also allows her to learn on her own that life is richer for the inclusion of others and you can’t do everything by yourself. As we saw so little of the family together, I hope this is not our last visit to Cather Creek and we get to catch up with these characters again. There is a wonderful secondary romance between Kellan’s (Amy’s husband) brother Jake and Matt’s sister Tara. There is much left unresolved between these two and I have my fingers crossed the full story will see the light of day (or make it into print, as the case may be). There is something fascinating about Jake, an LAPD SWAT officer who’s been estranged from Kellan for years, and Tara, a florist who’s allergic to everything with two kids. The sparks between these two are immediate and definitely fun to watch.
