This is no doubt John Powell's best score to date. This entire score is amazing! Forbidden Friendship, Test Drive, and Romantic Flight are the stars of this score.

As my husband and I watched "How to Train your Dragon", we both knew we needed the soundtrack. We purchased it as soon as we could- it is amazing! There is very little vocal on the entire track, and the majority of the songs are short (under 2 minutes), which makes it perfect for background music for a dinner party or conversation time. It is fantastically soothing, but not enough to put you to sleep- just right to listen to after a long day!

These songd are just too beautiful !!! When I close my eyes and listen to these songs I'm caught up in the gorgoues melodies and carried off on the back of Toothless too Berk. Any one who who doesn't like these songs (of which Forbidden Friendship and Romantic Flight are my favorites) is off thier rocker, batty and just plain nuts!!! Bravo Mr. Powell!!!! Bravo!!!! Good job to Jonsi too, I'm just a little bit confused. Is he singing some French in Sticks and Stones? Or is it just Scottish? Anywho bravo to all those who worked on this amazing on this amazing soundtrack.

beautiful soundtrack; really stimulates rarely touched emotions; different from all others. Unique in composition & bagpipe usage. Total keeper.

David Tennant (who has a cameo in the film - formerly The Doctor, soon to be Hamlet on PBS) recorded this story already several years ago and it is still available in the UK. In fact, he's recorded FIVE of the Hiccup books - the latest being released the week of 15 April in the UK. Why in the WORLD would they have someone else read them and release them instead of releasing the originals in the US? It makes NO sense whatsoever.
