Overview

Human Clay

Florida's Creed plays classic-grunge. No hip-hop syncopations. No Korny goth-rock theatrics. Just straight-ahead, testosterone-stoked sludge-rock performed by true believers who think Seattle is mecca. And more power to 'em! HUMAN CLAY, the follow-up to the four-million-selling MY OWN PRISON, is not only quaint in its religiously intense pursuit of the chalice of rock righteousness, it's also pretty gosh-darn triumphant. Vocalist Scott Stapp is as talented a yowler as grunge has produced, flinging spiritualist maxims like "in searching for substance/we're clouded by struggle's haze" heavenward as his mates lay down tracks with crunch and punch that almost seem like taunts to such contemporaries as the Deftones and Days of the New. The single "Higher" is the obvious sure shot here. Stapp sets dreams of a world where "love replaces all our hate" against a backdrop of chunky riffs, slingshot mini-solos, and pummeling drumbeats. Other noteworthy cuts are the monstrous "Are You Ready?" and the dark, mysterious "Wrong Way." The sound of 1991 is alive and well.

Creed's Human Clay CD is the best of their CDs. All the songs are good unlike some CDs where you have to skip around to hear the good stuff. You can listen to this CD straight through.

This CD is what music is all about. The spine tingling aura of inspiring words mixed with gripping music. The entire CD is filled with these types of tracks. The feeling that is induced through listing to this CD is well worth any investment.

Creed is such a talented and creative band. as my husband and I prepare to have our first child, we are touched by ''Arms Wide Open'', especially the heartbeat.

Creed is a powerful band that uses ingenious imagery and lyrics to create one of the most diverse and original sounds since Pink Floyd. Together with the loud guitar rifts and unmistakable vocals they have blended together, an album worthy of high and much discussion. They look at issues that most are afraid of and make us realize our wrongs as we rock to their thumping drumbeats. I n my opinion the best song on the album is With Arms Wide Open because it is about a new beginning, a chance to give new life to an old exisitence. In short they are brillant and talented and I hope they will continue for many years to come!

They have the talent and unlike most bands they don't talk about dying or sing that suicide is cool. This band is a miracle! They will be my favorite band always.

I like 'higher' and 'Arms wide Open' but most of the rest of the songs sound exactly alike. there is no variety at all.

The best lyrics I've heard in a long time!!! Great for parents who don't want their kids listing to albums with unexceptable language.

Creed has grown as a band greatly with this cd. The first release, MY OWN PRISON was full of soul and feeling, however, they were sad feelings. HUMAN CLAY seems to realize there is more to life than just sadness. It is an uplifting cd and deserves all five stars

I thought rock music was dead until I picked this disc up. Creed just blows my mind. The music is so strong. The beats are so deep. No fan of music should be without this cd. Even my dad thinks creed rocks, and he listens to easy listening stations. Wow!!!In terms of greatness Creed is up there with the likes of Hanson and the Doobie brothers. Rock on Creed, forever!! Yeah!

This Creed album, just like their album My Own Prison, was absolutely awesome! I highly recommend this album to anyone who loves good music. Why do I recommend this album you might might ask? First of all, Creed's music is filled with emotion. A great deal of bands today do not put any emotion into their music; they simply write the songs and sing them to make money. Creed on the other hand has beautifully written songs that are sung with so much emotion one could possible feel what Scott Stapp was thinking/feeling when he wwrote the lyrics himself. Secondly, Creed has extremely well crafted guitar hooks and riffs. These hooks and riffs will catch most everyone's ear and draw them in and somewhat compells them to listen, although it is not a forceful compelling. Rather, it is an almost longing/wanting to listne even more type of compelling force. Also, not enough could be said about the rythms that are pounded out on the drums of Creed. They bring entire songs together and make the songs as great as they could possibly be. Overall, this album does not take on any political issues, nor does it have any of sappy pop rock so prevalent today. It is a pure hard rock album that deals with issues straight from Scott Stapp's heart and life. Granted, if you do not like rock music, you probably will not like this album, but if you are open to all types of music, this album is well worth the money paid to obtain it.

I recomend this for everyone. The band had a great first albulm. I thought that it was the best I had ever heard until this one came out. They have great songs including WHAT IF, FACELESS MAN, and HIGHER.

This is one sweet album! Better than My Own Prison! I think its incredible how Creed is a Christian band but millions of non-Christians and Christians that listen to secular love this group. Just goes to show that God works in mysterious ways!

Human Clay is a great cd. This was the first Creed cd I bought and was not disappointed in the least. Probably one of the best cds I've ever listened to. One of the big reasons I love it so much is that every song on the album is good, and not just the hits you hear on the radio, which seperates creed from most other bands. Listen to it once, that's all it takes.
