Billionaire Carter Aymes, director of Cyber Operations, a covert cyborg force, devotes his wealth and life to saving others, rescuing hostages and other victims from desperate situations. His ultimate mission is to hunt down and eliminate Lamani, the alien terrorist mastermind, before he conquers the galaxy.

When Carter hires Beth O'Shea, a vulnerable but courageous woman with connections to his past, their attraction is immediate and strong, but he knows getting involved with her is a bad idea. He's her boss, and he has way too many classified projects to protect to risk letting someone get close.

Rejected by the progenitors who cloned her, Beth is determined to live a normal human life, beginning by getting an ordinary job with a security firm. But, from the start, she questions the extraordinary secrecy surrounding the organization. She can't help but wonder about the tall, muscled, larger-than-life director who gave her a chance when she desperately needed one. Could he ever be romantically interested in a woman like her, in a clone?

When Beth is attacked, they both realize how short and tenuous life is, and their mutual attraction becomes too powerful to resist.
As their relationship heats up, so does the urgency to capture Lamani before he can unleash a stealth weapon at a critical planetary Summit meeting. With time running out, Carter discovers that stopping Lamani may require sacrificing Beth's life.

Will Carter be able to rescue her, or will his new love be the one person he can't save?

TRUST ME—TELL ME—I CAN HELP YOU A Sci-fi story is only as good as the author who pens it, and Ms. Bristol has spun a tale that grabs the reader and holds them captive from the beginning to the end. When you are finished, you know you have been on an amazing journey, and can’t wait to pick up and read the next book. The storyline, the background of the characters, the descriptions of the sights, sounds, smells, are all part of this tale, making the reader feel like a voyeur along on this journey. Also, while this is an ongoing saga, the stories are written in a manner that will read well as a stand-alone, what is shared from previous books is enough to refresh from previous books, or set the stage for a new reader. Carter Aymes is the head of Aym-Sec and Cy-Ops. He is also part Cyborg, and when all else fails, his team goes in and gets the job done. They are preparing for a major venue that will have dignitaries and heads of planets convening for a meeting, and his Aym-Sec is in charge of security. Beth O’Shea has come to Terra United after passing a vid-com interview to have an in-person interview with Brock at Aym-Sec. This will be her first real job, and a chance to have a life. She is the clone that was commissioned after Liza O’Shea was killed on a safari, but now Liza’s parents have regret for going through with it. Her life with Liza’s parents has been unhappy, and they want her gone. The plot will bring her to Terra United where Carter will see her, and he will mistake her for Liza, his college girlfriend. Things she says he finds questionable because Liza never mentioned a twin sister. Then when Beth’s interview is canceled without any explanations, she must try and find a job, but when she goes to leave the motel, she is intercepted and taken captive. The story is an amazing adventure with secrets that will be revealed, an unexpected attraction, a new job, danger, angst, life and death situations, attempted murder, and so much more. The story is one that keeps the pages turning as the mystery unfolds and the reader is left in shock at some of the events. Not everyone is who they seem to be; the nefarious intent is in play, secrets will be revealed, and more. Beth’s life will be in jeopardy. Carter will feel like she betrayed him. And the universe is still being threatened. Will the truth be revealed before more lives are lost? How deep does the infiltration of danger extend? “Life offered no guarantees, only chances.”

This is book 6 in this series and I highly recommend you read the previous books as there is a bigger story ARC that this book builds on even more. This book is about Carter Aymes the director of Cyber Operations and Beth O'Shea who is a clone. We have seen (or Heard) about Carter in all the previous books and now it's his turn to have his story told. Carter started his agency to try to keep people safe no matter what it takes. Beth O'Shea was cloned and then when she had a different personality than the person she was cloned from-she was rejected and left in the cold. She talks those people into letting her go and live a normal life. To that end she has applied for a job with Carter's company. After a rocky moment Carter decides to hire her. But also decides that even though he is highly attracted to Beth, that as her boss he should keep his distance. Until she is hurt and he realizes that by keeping her at arm's length he is missing out on something that could make him extremely happy. However, there are still problems to solve and people to try to keep safe! I have been impatiently waiting for Carter's story ever since I read Captured by the Cyborg! And I have to say, I absolutely loved his story!! Carter is such a strong man who has not only strong convictions of right and wrong but also the heart to care about other people. His "team" is not just a team to him, it's his family and you can tell just by how this story is written. And then you throw in his relationship with Beth and I fell in love with this character. Beth was given a raw deal. But even after all that she had been through she is a strong woman who knows that life needs to be lived to the fullest or else what is the point! They are perfect for each other. But then there was the twist that I didn't see coming! That part had me sitting with my mouth hanging open going "Oh My God!". I loved every minute of this book!! I really hope that we get more books about some of the other characters that we see in this one. Specifically the doctor!! If you haven't tried this series, then I highly recommend that you do-if you like Cyborg type romance books.

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review** Hunted by the Cyborg is the 6th book in the Cy-Ops series. I'd rate this book at 4.5 stars. This book could be read as a standalone, the author gives enough information IMO, but I personally think that books in a series lose some importance by not knowing who some of the characters are that they discuss. I really enjoyed this book, there was an interesting twist that I wasn't expecting that I really enjoyed. I enjoyed the characters- Beth O'Shea at the beginning started out sort of meek and despondent after leaving her previous life behind. As the book progresses you do see her change, she becomes stronger, more vibrant, and more interactive. Carter Aymes is the head/owner of Aym-Sec, he's a cyborg, he's an alpha male, but he's not overly alpha to the point that it's annoying. The couple is interesting together, one question that stood out in my mind was, did he really like Beth for herself, or because of someone in his past-- I know that's kind of vague, however I don't want to give away any spoilers. I did enjoy them as a couple overall. You do get to see some of the previous characters, but you don't really get any updates on them which I was hoping. Why I didn't give the book a 5 was the end of the book I wished there would have been an epilogue or a little more about Carter and Beth at the end and there were some formatting issues- one was at the end of the page if it was hyphenated when you turned the page the rest of the sentence was gone so I either had to rotate my device or change the font to get the end of the sentence. The other was the cyborg conversations which weren't out loud some was italicized and some wasn't. Other then that I loved the book. Looking forward to more books from this author!! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

Hunted by the Cyborg is the perfect blend of suspense, romance and action all rolled up into an incredibly entertaining novel. One that I voluntarily received a copy of in exchange for an honest review. Carter, who we’ve met in other books, is that character who I couldn’t wait to read about because I just knew it was going to be phenomenal. Bristol didn’t disappoint me in the least. Beth also met all my expectations of a leading lady. She was smart, courageous and could match wits with Carter. No damsel in distress here. I loved that about her. The story built in a way that there is this underlying edge of suspense that I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it does, it’s a whopper! I am not going to give anything away, but I loved every minute of this novel. I am giving it 5 Boundless stars; it’s awesome!
