About the Author

Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon is the Founder and CEO of The Center for the Study of African and African Diaspora Museums and Communities (CFSAADMC). She was a registrar at the James E. Lewis Museum of Art at Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland.
Dr. Johnson-Simon has worked for over fifteen years with cultural heritage projects in South Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Arizona and Georgia. She is the author of Culture Keepers Florida: Oral History of the African American Museum Experience; Culture Keepers: Arizona and children's book "Anaya Visits the James E.
