Before getting into the story there is a note to educators and parents. It explains that the purpose of the "I Can Do It" series is to help young children accomplish simple tasks. Also, the books are designed to engage readers through familiar topics and realistic photographs that support the text. Initially they are designed for guided reading and when a child develops fluency, they can be read independently. The text introduces the various parts of a computerscreen, mouse, and keyboard. I do think that most kids will have used a computer before they have the ability to read the words in this book. The lesson is just too simple to be of value to most kids. A six-word glossary, decent bibliography, web site reference, index and blurb about the author round out the book. 2005, Weekly Reader Early Learning Library, Ages 5 to 7.
