Debra is also a classical pianist and performed a benefit recital for the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research (IMBCR) on the great Vladimir Horowitz' piano during "The Legendary Steinway Pianos Tour." She serves on the IMBCR's Advisory Committee as Event Chairperson, overseeing event planning and helping produce its many benefits, including comedy at the Skirball Cultural Center with Renee Taylor & Joseph Bologna; jazz at Catalina Bar & Grill with Bennie Maupin & Todd Cochran and another benefit there with the five-time Grammy award nominee and 38 Gold and Platinum certifications guitarist Ottmar Liebert; art benefit at the Andrew Weiss Gallery (Marilyn Monroe photos); and film benefits, one as part of the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival in "Cooking with Stella" starring Lisa Ray, and another with the premiere of "Love is All You Need" starring Pierce Brosnan.
She has been married to Dr. Jim Berenson for more than 37 years. They have two daughters, Shira and Ariana, and a dog, Snowball.
