I just read this to my 4-year-old tonight as a bedtime story and decided to purchase a hard copy of it. My plan is to have his teachers sign it as he moves through school and then give it to him at graduation. :)

My daughter loves trains but this book is a story about life's journey. A great book for 18 months and older.

This is an uplifting tale that is written for all ages. It follows the Little Engine That Could through many ups and downs along his way. It motivates children and adults alike to continue to move forward through all of the struggles that they may come across in life. This inspiring children's book is written in a rhyme and is easy for children to read. As children grow they will be able to take more and more away from this book and apply it to their lives. The illustrations by Crisitina Ong are detailed and captivating. Her use of color and simple shapes grab the attention of the reader and pull them in. This encouraging tale is uplifting and will continue to inspire children through every twist and turn in their lives.

My wife is a public school teacher, and we are grandparents, so the book works wonderfully on two fronts. Children need all of the inspiration they can get to read these days, what with video games, T.V and a host of other things to distract them from learning to read. My wife and I see children that enter the 2nd grade that can't read or write, not just because previous grade levels have dropped the ball in their teaching duties, but parents that don't CARE! So, someone has to care for these children. If you see a child stuggling to read, help them out. Buy them a simple, but encouraging book, and teach them to read!

A follow up to a favorite book ... The Little Engine that Could.... I Knew I Could is great for all ages. I have given it as a High School graduation gift as well as use it for children who lack self confidence and motivation.

This is the kind of reading that gets a child to DO. It gives them the encouragement to go ahead and accomplish what needs to be done instead of sitting about and doing nothing. I read it to my grandson and since then he needs little force to complete most tasks. All should read this book to their children and grandchildren.

This is a terrific book!! This is a great way for children to learn to keep trying even when things look bad. It is also great to help encourage adults as well. I get choked up every time I read it! I give it as a gift to those who need some extra encouragement in their life.

The catchy positive title caught my eye. The Little Blue Engine caught my son's. I absolutely love this book, and I think this book can be applied to any age level. Children need to be reminded that things aren't always going to go the way 'they' have planned. They need to keep their head up and find what is right for them.

My son's teacher gave him this for preschool graduation, and I cried reading it to him. What a beautiful poem. I think it has more meaning for the parents than for the children, but it is definitely a keepsake. We will put this one high on a shelf and read it each time he enters a new phase in life. I hope he reads it to his own kids someday and appreciates what a special gift it is.

I bought 5 copies of this book to give to my children for graduations. I loved the Little Engine That Could when I was growing up so this book is perfect for me to pass on to my children. I love how positive the book is.
