I Love Lucy by Lucille Ball, Betty Hannah Hoffman

Over thirty years ago, the undisputed queen of comedy sat down to record the story of her life. A recently discovered treasure, Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans-the story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. It tells of their life together-both storybook and turbulent: intimate stories of their children and friends; wonderful backstage anecdotes; the creation of the most popular show on TV; the production empire they founded; the dissolution of their marriage.

Maybe you have to be a lucy fan, or maybe not, but I know I'm a fan and it's the best book about her ever written, and she wrote it herself. No wonder!! :) I strongly recomend it!!

I've been a forever fan of the I Love Lucy show and reading this book made me appreciate her so much more...not just as an actress but as a woman. The book is amazing and if you are a fan of Lucy you should really read it.

Lucy is one of us. She sets herself apart as a studio executive, comic genius, and versatile performer, but she too experiences many hardships. Ball is fun, virtuous, and private. Though written after her divorce, Ball's eternal love for Desi colors the pages. Ball has finally addressed us!

This is the most enchanting and warm book I have ever Read on My comedic Idol Miss Lucille Ball. It is written as if Lucy was sitting in my living room talking directly to me. A must read for any Lucy Aficienado.
