Yes this book has nice illustrations and it's a cute store line but DON'T buy the read-to-me ereader version. The reading is VERY dry and uneventful. I like to read to my daughter with expression and enthusiasm. This book has NONE. It has a very monotone voice and is dull and borning. I'm sorry I purchased it.

One of the reasons for reading to children is so they learn to read with expression. The narrator of the Parr books is horrible, someone should have taught him to read better. I'm not satisfied with how much I spent for it to sound like that.

The book is cute, but the narrator is terrible. His reading is dry, expressionless, and unappealing.

Used on Nookcolor. With the 'read to me feature' the readers intonation and sound of voice was unpleasant and flat. The words were unnecessarily small for the Nook, since there aren't that many words on the page anyway. Colors and pictures pretty good. My 3 yr old grandson seemed to like it ok but he was also distracted with his first exposure to the Nook. Maybe better in a regular paper book. I could take it or leave it. A little long for the type and subject also.

Reviewed by Karen Pirnot for Readers' Favorite The I LOVE YOU Book by Todd Parr offers preschoolers the opportunity to think about common characteristics which make them lovable to family and friends. The book is very colorful and will visually attract the attention of the young reader. Each page offers a different primary color and is then enhanced through simple figures engaged in a particular activity. Child characteristics such as bravery, shyness, sadness, silliness, affection, and cleanliness are touted as traits that help to make a child lovable. In addition, common activities such as eating, playing, cooking, grocery shopping, walking and other daily activities are seen by adults as helping to make the young child lovable.  I liked the way the author likened common childhood characteristics and common daily activities to the way the adult looks at the child in a favorable light. I have seen many books similar to this but the specificity of the activity combined with the illustrations gives the book somewhat of a unique touch. Since young children need ongoing reminders of their lovableness, especially after being disciplined for not-so-lovable traits or behaviors, this would be a good book to help the youngster recover from the hurt of being chastised. Lifting the preschool on your lap and helping the child to feel the closeness of a loving relationship will surely assist the child in distinguishing good and bad traits as well as right and wrong behaviors. Afterwards, the child could be encouraged to suggest other items which might be included in the book.

I really love this book, and my three-year-old daughter does, too. The pictures are bright and simple but also communicate the different settings and emotions perfectly. The sentiment is that the mommy or daddy loves his or her child no matter what - when she's scared, brave, sick, well, sleeping, refusing to sleep, etc. I also love how the parents and children are all different colors - yellow, orange, blue, tan, etc. Highly recommended for young children!

This is a cute book. The characters are a bit quirky at first but as you read his books they become quite enduring. My 5 yr old thought this book was funny. It is also easy enough to read that beginner readers can read it. I am really becoming a Todd Parr fan. His simple books send such lovely messages. I have found that books that are simple with few words speak so loudly to kids. The loud colors and outragous characters keep the kids attention also.

Love this author but the narration on this is atrocious as if the reader were on a heavy dose of cough syrup and boredom. Too bad these weren't monitored better for their entertainment value. This reader did a disservice to the overall heartfelt message of this sweet book.

This is an adorable picture book that's perfect for Valentine's Day. The colorful illustrations are made to look like a child would actually draw them, so they can be immediately identified by young readers. A fun and loving book.
