I Love You, Funny Bunny is a beautiful children’s book that displays a parent’s love for their child. Readers follow a cute little bunny and their bunny parent through the journey of life as the parent bunny says how much and why they love their little one. The story is incredibly poetic and moving. A parent’s love runs deep and this little book captures that feeling very well. The illustrations are wonderful and relatable. The vivid colors and the scenes that are shown make the story that much more enjoyable. I Love You, Funny Bunny is a perfect little book for all ages. It is a great read to gift anyone who has children or from a parent to a child. I think that giving this book to anyone you love and are proud of is a good idea too! My family received our copy of Don’t Close Your Eyes by Bob Hostetler from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book free of charge from BookLook Bloggers book review program of Zonderkidz (a registered trademark of Zondervan) in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts below are my own. This beautifully illustrated picture book is a perfect addition for any young child’s library. Sean Julian creatively displays these adorable bunnies with soft edges, bright colors and eye catching backdrops. The sweet animals romp and play throughout the pages with other cute animals in the background. At the turn of each page, there is a sweet, rhythmic lyric for parents to read to their children that embraces the bond between a parent and child. I Love You, Funny Bunny expresses the beauty of a strong love and all the tiny, wonderful moments we often take for granted as parents. As a parent myself, reading this book to my 9 month old daughter, I found this book to be sweet and tender. I love the way she scrunches her nose and calls my name and forget to tell her that as often as I should. I adored that I Love You, Funny Bunny encouraged unconditional love, while building self esteem in a child and thus strengthening a parent/child bond. I believe this book is well suited for young children under the age of 8. Because the rhymes are short and sweet, and each page is a change of colors and setting, this picture book will capture even the shortest of young attention spans. The cover is a paper jacket over a hard bound, illustrated cover and the pages inside are thick sturdy paper. The book would make an excellent Easter basket addition, a thoughtful gift for a new parent or young child or as an addition to your own child’s collection.

I Love You, Funny Bunny is sweet picture book about the ways this mother bunny loves her little one. The book is beautifully illustrated by Sean Julian. The hues and shades of coloring are warm and inviting. The characters expressions go well with the story. There are lots of fun pictures to look at where the characters are located in the forest, by the stream and home inside the bunnies den. Most but not all illustration scenes span two pages at once. The story is written in rhyme making this an excellent storybook pick for reading aloud. It’s not an overly wordy written book. There is typically just one sentence/phrase on a page. The rhymes never feel awkward or oddly forced. The flow is perfect. Ways this mother states she loves her little one include how she’s made to laugh, how’s she left in awe when she the wonder that feels her little ones face when they discover something new, and in many more wonderful ways. My nearly three year old enjoys when I read her this book. She is quite captivated by the pictures and the sweet story. I am happy to share such a heartfelt sweet story with her. I wanted to point out that though this book is under a christian publisher, there is no mention of God or Bible verses included within its pages. The hardcover version of this book I am quite happy with. It’s sturdy and quite durable for reading over and over again. The jacketed cover is stylish with is eye catching foil title, flowers and stand out bunny picture on the front. A perfect pick for reading for the upcoming Spring season. Recommended! I received this book in exchange for an honest review from BookLookBloggers.

I Love You, Funny Bunny is a sweet picture book about the special relationship between a parent and a child. Each line of rhyming text (except for one) begins with "I love" and then describes a child's attribute or action that the parent loves. Prominently on the front cover are the words "Illustrated by Sean Julian," the spine says Julian, and the back cover flap features only his bio. To find that the text is written by Barbara Hendon, you have to look at the fine print on the title page with the copyright information. This focus on illustration makes sense in context of the book: the text itself is simple and undetailed--short, easy to understand, and rhyming: "I love your sense of wonder, when you first see something new" (13-14). The rhymes appear on subsequent pages, making the overall rhythm less effective: "I love the times we cuddle close and share a book or two" (15-16). In contrast, the illustrations are full of detail, telling more story than the words with vibrant colors and emotive facial expressions on both part of the child bunny and the parent bunny. Each spread has so much detail to take in, occasionally with multiple scenes displayed across the pages. Fully appreciating the illustrations would make the reading aloud pace slow, further prolonging the payout of the rhyme on the next page. Though the book suggests that it's appropriate for ages 4-8, I would stay on the younger side of that range for optimal enjoyment of the simple text and lack of narrative story line. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, but was not required to post a positive review.

Too CUTE! I Love You, Funny Bunny is a sweet book that shares the love of a momma bunny has with her baby bunny. It has cute little rhymes and Sean Julian’s illustrations are bright and colorful. They tell a deeper story then that actual writing, which I love since you can go off and talk with your child about what they are seeing. Overall a really sweet book that conveys the beauty of mom and baby relationship. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

“I love your generosity, your gestures from the heart. I love you, Funny Bunny. You’re my favorite work of art,” ends Sean Julian’s illustrated children’s book, I Love You, Funny Bunny. ~ What ~ At thirty-two pages, this oversized hardbound targets children ages four to eight years old who enjoy bunnies and loving relationships. With no scary scenes, it is a story told in rhyme about a mother’s love for her adorable rabbit. Including some complicated wording, it would be best read out loud to beginner readers. With beautiful depictions of a happy rabbit and his mom, the rhyming tale explains how the parent loves her offspring from his appearance, actions, personality, style, talents, and memories. ~Why ~ This is a charming story of the relationship between a mom and child, promoting how wonderful the bond is between the two. I like the silly, cute, and thoughtful illustrations that are depicted, showing the strong bond between the animals. ~ Why Not ~ Those who are not parents or are not around young ones may not note the value of love through observation. Beginner readers may find the two- and three-syllable words hard to pronounce. ~ Wish ~ While I appreciate the love the mother shows toward her child, the story does not include the father so he may feel left out reading the book to a little one. ~ Want ~ If you are looking for a cute story of the unrequited love a mother has for her child, this is a thoughtful read but limited. Thanks to BookLookBloggers for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.

Who doesn't love bunnies? This is an adorably cute book all about a child bunny and its guardian. The gender of the child rabbit is not mentioned, so this could be a son or daughter. The rabbits frolic together in the park, eat together, sing together, dance together, play together, make art together, and more. The overall theme is how much the parent bunny loves the child bunny. They love spending time together and loving each other as a family. At the very end, there is a big "I love you" part that is great for any child reader to hear. I loved the illustrations in this book. The nature was so lifelike. I also enjoyed the little birds and other wildlife in the background. I thought it rather clever when the rabbits used a carrot as a microphone when singing.
