This is an adorable little board book! I haven't seen the first two books in the series, but I am definitely going to be looking for them to add them to my grandchildren's library. The bear family in this series, as you can tell from the cover, is not a typical one where all the bears look the same. That makes this a great book for adoptive families, as well as for traditional families, as it also looks at how the cubs vary in personality traits. The main theme of the story is that all three cubs are loved unconditionally by their parents and grandparents, as well as by one another. The illustrations are adorable and not too "busy," with just enough detail to show what the text is saying. Each page contains a scripture verse that relates to the action on that page as well. The fact that it's a very durable board book makes it a good choice for toddlers, and it should last long enough for them to grow into reading it on their own as well. **I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I Love You Just Because is a wonderful book, my daughter absolutely loved it! This 18 pg 8x8 hardcover book is perfect for both the children and adults reading it. It's a story about a mother and father bear that have 3 baby bears and they are all different. Each baby bear is reminded why he/she is loved and what makes them special, not only by their parents but by God too. Each page ends with a bible quote that goes along with what is being talked about on that page. The illustrations are warm, colorful and fun. This book is a great reminder to us all that we are all different and loved in our own little ways.
I absolutely love this book series! The illustrations are whimsical, with a subtle painterly quality. The different bears are just too cute!!! Even better, the messages they portray are wonderful for children of all ages as well as parents. As a family who has adopted our children, I'm always on the lookout for books that are enriching and supportive of the adoption experience. These particular books are especially meaningful for families with children that have differences from each other- physical or personality-oriented, so they work for both adoptive and traditional families. I Love You Just Because reassures children that they are unconditionally loved and valued for who they are as a person. The addition of Biblical scripture references reinforce God's love as well, and make the book an easy resource for including young children in scripture study. There are several examples of how the young bears feel different from his/her siblings, but is always accepted by each other and the grown bears- both parents and grandparents (who are so fun!). The sturdy cardboard pages are perfect for toddlers and the 8" x 8" size is large enough to enjoy the pictures without being overly big. I highly recommend this book and its predecessors for all families with young ones! (Thank you to BookLook Bloggers for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review)
I love my two sons more than words can express. I don't love them for anything they have done or anything they will do. I love them just because of who they are, my sons. This is the same message behind author Donna Keith's newest book I Love You Just Because. The third in a series, this padded cover board book features an adorable bear family and fun rhyming text. I liked how the illustrations stretched across a two-page spread, as well as how the author included a Bible verse on each set of pages. I also appreciated how the author transmitted the idea that even though each bear sibling is different, their papa and mama love them all the same, just because. This is a cute book, and it makes me curious to read the first two books in the series. No two people are alike, and no two bear cubs are either, but each and every one of us are special in our own way. Join these three little bear cubs as they discover what makes them special and that, despite their differences, they are loved. This is a very cute children’s book about differences and how it doesn’t change the fact that we are loved. I believe this is an especially good book for families with adopted children. The story follows two black bears and their three cubs, Polar bear, Brown bear, and Panda bear. It isn’t important how children come into our lives, just that we love and care for them and raise them as best as we can. Whether they look like us or like the same foods as us, it doesn’t matter, we love them. This book explains to children that no matter what, they are loved. The images are cute, capturing sweet scenes of these three little bears. On each page, there is a Bible verse included about love, which is a very nice addition. I recommend this book for all children and especially children who have questioned whether their differences effect their relationships with their parents.
