Overview

A boy and a moose become fast friends in this rhyming charmer from the creators of "The Boston Balloonies," "The Cods of Cape Cod," and "Champ and Me By the Maple Tree." Together, boy and beast play hide-and-seek (not the best game for a moose), walk to the general store, then take a tour of Maine. They fly about in a seaplane, they run the Penobscot River on a raft made of logs, they hang out on a dock in Camden, and they finish off with some "chocolate moose cake" at a cafe in Portland!

Editorial Reviews

According to this adorable children's book, making friends with a moose is easier than you might suspect. In fact, the four-legged hero of this saga invites himself into the narrator's home, thus beginning an adventure that takes young readers on a raft trip down the Penobscot River and other exciting Maine venues. An educational frolic by the creators of The Boston Balloonies.

What a fun surprise this book is! I ordered it along with a handful of classic Dr. Seuss books for my new nephews, and I must say this book fits right in. This will be a classic in our house. The moose makes me laugh on each page because he is just so warm and funny ... you want to hug him!
