Reviewed by Cheryl Schopen for Readers' Favorite I Say, You Say Colors! by Tad Carpenter is an educational children’s board book. Not only will children learn the different colors by using common objects, but they will also be able to view extremely colorful and exciting illustrations along the way. Containing many lift-the-flap pages, this book encourages kids to interact and have fun while learning their colors. Each page is filled with numerous images of the specific colors to ensure that children understand the difference. Entertaining and engaging, this is the perfect way for kids to learn! Tad Carpenter has done it again! I Say, You Say Colors! is equally fun and educational, just like the other I Say, You Say books in the series. Once again, I am completely amazed by the illustrations. The bright, vibrant images packed onto each page guarantee that each child will be able to distinguish between the colors. Children will also learn how to predict outcomes because of the repetitive phrases on each page, which make it possible for children to participate while being read to. Carpenter has accomplished something that not all authors can; parents and their children will BOTH thoroughly enjoy and appreciate his books. I will definitely be getting all of the books in this series for my daughter, who is now one of Carpenter’s biggest fans. I recommend this book and the others in the I Say, You Say series to any parent with a young child. If your children are at the age where they are acknowledging different colors, I Say, You Say Colors! (or “the pumpkin book” as my daughter likes to call it since that is her favorite page) is the absolute perfect way to teach them and promote their reading skills.
