Gr 9-12-- This guidebook explains how to select a college, the process for getting in, financial considerations, basic academic requirements for earning a degree, and campus life. It is well-written, carefully organized and interesting to read, making important points clearly and honestly. Although there are a number of comparable guides, such as Melody Martin's Getting Off to College (Oak Tree, 1982; o.p.), Planning Your College Education (National Textbook Company, 1981) by William A. Rubinfield, and College Bound (College Board, 1988) by Evelyn Kaye and Janet Gardner, the encouraging and upbeat tone used here would make this book a worthwhile addition where books on career guidance are needed. The only shortcoming is the bibliography, which contains mostly college bulletins and catalogues and only two helpful books. --Diane P. Tuccillo, Mesa Public Library, Ariz.
