I have read three books on IBS. The other two books were boring and depressing. This book is not. I found it easy to read and easy to understand. My family doctor explained some of what is in these books to me but I wanted to know more. After reading IBS, Symptoms and Treatments, I feel like I can answer questions about what my diagnosis is and how it is treated. I recommend that if you have questions about IBS that you get this book.

I bought several books on this topic and this is the most useful. I bought it a month ago and started following the author's advice immediately. The book will outline everything for you including how to make the correct lifestyle adjustment, what to expect from medication and what alternative therapy might help. The author clearly knows this topic and, unlike a lot of books, her diet recommendations are extremely easy to follow and understand. I have adapted my diet and I feel that my IBS is much better controlled. Get this book, read it and follow it and I promise that you will feel a lot better.

this book is too brief and general.

I have referred to the material in this book quite a bit and it is wonderful that it is so easy to read because it is in Nook format. I believe that reading medical information on a Nook makes it easy to go back to parts of the book that you need to understand better and the Nook format makes it also easier to return to the diet recommendations which I refer to constantly. Thanks for a great book.

I am 60 years old and was given a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrom many years ago. I thought that I had read a lot about this problem but I did not know much of what is in this book. This book is in eBook format which I am just getting used to but this is a good topic for iPad reading and I found the fact that you could just click on a chapter and go there to be very convenient and helped me concentrate on the parts of the illness that I do not know very much about and to skip over the parts of the illness that I know more about. In the end, I read the entire book and I highly recommend that you do as well.

I was recently diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and I have been trying to read everything I can about this disease. Dr. Svensen's book is not written in medical jargon but you also do not feel "talked down to" when you are reading this book which is, in my opinion, the way much of the information on the internet and in other books is presented. This book covers everything from diagnosis to treatment in one compact ebook.
