This is a great book. I picked it up three days ago and couldn¿t put it down. It¿s a wonderful potboiler about a kidnapper of kids in San Francisco and the clock-is-ticking attempts by homicide detectives and a crime reporter to catch the bad guy before he strikes again. From the very first chapter, the story is full of fast-paced, plot-driven suspense and some very well drawn characters, particularly Tom Reed, the cop reporter and Walt Sydowski, the veteran homicide cop. The author has an excellent grasp of newsrooms and police investigative techniques, and uses the S.F. setting to great effect. It¿s a first novel, and a good one. Couldn¿t

An Excellent, gifted storyteller who will keep you up at night. The characters are intriguing & the plot is dangerous. I found myself feeling many emotions during this book. Most of all I was on the edge of my seat. The ending was a bit predictable but the FBI & CA state agencies lent interesting facets about their collaborative effort. jca1952

This book is an outstanding crime thriller. There are so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat throughout it -- especially at the end. I can't wait to read more books in this series.

WOW! I am totally blown away by this book! The author has crafted so many individual psychological profiles of characters into a chilling masterpiece of a story. I was truly unable to put this gripping story down....the one time I fell asleep while reading it I was in a nightmare inside the story. I highly reccomend this read.

I don't write reviews often but this was a very thrilling and exciting book. I was deeply impressed with the characters and story.

It's not a mystery because the plot is revealed early on. I don't like that. It's not a psychological thriller either--just way too many weird characters to keep track of. I found the book tedious and boring and after 150 pages I gave up!

Mofina does a great job in developing his California characters, in his introductory novel, If Angels Fall. The book will keep you on your toes because the story combines all pieces of the puzzle into a flawless ending. However, No Way Back his third paperback is a much better read.

This is a wonderful book from the first sentence. It pulls you right into the story line. It is a page turner. The story twists and turns, and takes you to the unexpected. I couldn't put it down. Rick Mofina out did himself for his first novel. 'If Angels Fall' is still my favorite novel.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fantastic suspence thriller and fast paced reading. The absolute BEST!!!!!!!!

Apparently this is the first book by Author Mofina? WOW! A 'BULLSEYE' on his first try! This classic crime-thriller is a book about a parents worst nightmare... the kidnapping of a child. Mofina's story of the police investigation that follows is fascinating. I highly recommend this one!! And, waiting for ANOTHER.....
