Tori Peterson is waiting in the car to pick her niece up from school when she sees a man abducting another little girl. But something seems odd about the abduction. It reminds Tori of her own abduction as a child and when she learns her kidnapper is out of prison she is worried that he may be getting back at her. Mark Bolen is there too and is quick to help Tori find Abby. Mark has his own issues that he is working around. The more the two are together it is clear that there is an attraction between Tori and Mark. But both have trust issues and many things to overcome if they are going to be a couple. This is my first book from Rachel Brimble but it will not be my last. Tori has gone through hell and lets it keep molding her in the present. Because of that, she is not the easiest of people to like. But when you hear her story you can’t help but feel for her. Then to have the same type of abduction happen in front of her eyes, heart wrenching. This is a great thriller that kept me guessing and hope that they would be able to save Abby. I admit that I’m not much of a contemporary romance girl but I really enjoyed this portion of the story. It was a great match to the hunt for Abby without over power that portion of the story or having Tori and Mark be love struck teens. I really enjoyed this story and recommend checking it out. I can’t wait to read Rachel Brimble’s other stories. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

If I Want You by Rachel Brimble is a novel that revolves around child abductions, people learning to grow through pain - past and present, and a romance that has definite sizzle! The child abductions are painful to read about, but the growth that Tori, and Mark, show throughout this book make the whole ordeal a bit easier to deal with by the end of the book! I must admit I was totally baffled as to who the abductor would turn out to be! Ms. Brimble kept me guessing, much as Tori did, throughout the novel! The pace was a bit slow for my liking, but I found that I wasn't willing to walk away from If I Want You. Ms. Brimble's writing style is very easy to read. I found the characters to be well thought out, and researched thoroughly! I was able to spot several editing issues, but they didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. Pick up your copy of If I Want You by Rachel Brimble and I’m certain you’ll find yourself enjoying this romantic suspense novel! When Tori is picking up her niece from school she witnesses an abduction. This reminds Tori of her past, as she was once abducted herself. Tori is a journalist and starts to do some digging. She feels guilty and wants to help the police in their search for the missing girl. She isn't alone, single father Mark was present at the scene as well and wants to assist Tori in her quest. Together they're trying to uncover the truth. Because of what Tori discovers she gets the feeling the abduction wasn't random. There are similarities with the situation she was in many years ago. Memories of the past come to the surface and Tori has to deal with the horrible captor who took away her childhood all over again. Will she be strong enough to deal with the kidnapper and will the missing girl be found? While Tori is looking for clues together with Mark they become closer, but it isn't the right time for love, or is it? If I Want You is a gripping romantic story. Tori doesn't trust easily. The memories of the past are still making life difficult for her and she thinks she'll never experience the happiness a lot of other people seem to find so easily. My heart ached for Tori and everything she had to go through and I kept hoping better days would come for her. First she has a case to solve though and the search for the missing girl kept me on the edge of my seat. Rachel Brimble combines mystery with romance in a great way and I flew through the pages of her story. Rachel Brimble has a fabulous compelling writing style. She describes what her main characters are going through in a vivid and sympathetic way. I could easily understand everything Mark and Tori were feeling. They are on a mission and are trying to dig up as much information as they can, but they are also allowing themselves to go through the many different emotions involved in such a hard situation. I was curious to find out more about the case, but also about their relationship. There are clues, combined with sparks and deep moving scenes. If I Want You is a versatile story and I absolutely loved this captivating book.

Tori Peterson is sitting in a car waiting to pick up her niece from school. She's a bit distracted, but as she looks up, a man is forcing a young girl into his car. Terrified, she runs after them, but to no avail. Tori is not only a journalist, but a survivor of being kidnapped herself when she was a young child. While waiting for police Tori meets Mark Bolton, a widower whose daughter attends the same school. He does well in calming parents and teachers alike and is instantly attracted to Tori. Tori and Mark join forces in helping the police look for the missing child. Everything changes when Tori notices the many similarities between her own kidnapping and those of today. Is her kidnapper out of prison and back to take her again? Is this a copycat who knows Tori's background? Tori has always had trust issues so can she trust Mark? For each of their own reasons, Tori and Mark are determined to find the missing child. This is a well written suspense about two people who do not trust easily and have to overcome their own issues about themselves and each other. There are some twists and turns that negate everything you think you know up to that point. I liked the characters and how they interacted with each other. Many thanks to the author / Wild Rose Press / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Favorite Quotes: What the majority of people don’t know or understand, is that when a child’s taken from everything they know, their traumatized emotions soon bypass the initial fear and move onto a horrible acceptance that they might never be found. A soul destroying, deep-embedded realization that maybe their mum and dad don’t actually love them as the child thought… otherwise they would come and find them. My Review: This was my first chance to read Rachel Brimble’s work and I plan to repeat the experience as often as possible as I found her narrative to be well-crafted, stimulating, and easy to follow. Ms. Brimble adroitly maintained the tension and suspense as I felt the urgency and turmoil within my own body that a missing child would invoke. The main characters were intriguing yet deeply damaged by past traumas. Tori proved more difficult for me to warm up to or appreciate, as she was extremely prickly, distrustful, snappish, driven, and obsessed to the point of arrogance. I empathized with the saintly and sexy Mark, and it is just hard for me to resist a sweet and thoughtful man who works with his hands. The storyline was interesting and engaging while Ms. Brimble’s writing was thoughtfully insightful, observantly detailed, occasionally steamy, and held my attention throughout.
