Overview

From New York Times bestseller Lexi Ryan comes a sexy new standalone romance in the bestselling Boys of Jackson Harbor series. Meet single dad Easton Connor as he leaves the NFL and returns to Jackson Harbor to fight for another chance with the love of his life.

***

I don't regret much.

Not my decision to enter the NFL draft before finishing college.

Not fighting for custody of my daughter—even if, biologically speaking, it turns out she's not mine.

And certainly not seducing my buddy's little sister ten years ago.

But when it comes to Shayleigh Jackson, my no-regrets attitude stops there. I screwed up royally where she's concerned. Then I made another mistake when I let her shut me out of her life.

Now after more than a decade living in different time zones, I'm coming home to Jackson Harbor. My first priority is keeping my daughter away from the media circus in Los Angeles, but the moment I see Shay, I know something else brought me back here. Now I'll stop at nothing to win her back.

So what if she won't speak to me? So what if she's changed? So what if she's fallen for some douchebag professor? I've never gotten over her, and I know she feels the same about me.

I've let her go twice. I won't make that mistake again.

If It's Only Love and all other books in this series can be read as standalones, but you'll enjoy reading them together.

The Boys of Jackson Harbor

1 - The Wrong Kind of Love (Ethan's story)

2 - Straight Up Love (Jake's story)

3 - Dirty, Reckless Love (Levi's story)

4 - Wrapped in Love (Brayden's story)

5 - Crazy for Your Love (Carter's story)

6 - If It's Only Love (Shay's story)

I know this is hard to believe, but this is my first book by Lexi Ryan and I cannot understand how that could be. From start to finish, I was captivated by the story that she wove, drawn in, I had a hard time putting this one down when real life got in the way. Although the last book in the series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone, but I am off to one click the rest of the books in the series ASAP as I loved the dynamics of the whole Jackson family. This is Shayleigh Jackson ( the only sister of the 5 Jackson brothers) and single dad Easton Connor’s story. Returning to live in Jackson Harbor with his daughter, Easton cannot wait to be immersed in the lives of those he loves the most, the Jackson family and if fate allows him, to earn another chance with the woman he has always loved, Shay. The chemistry between Easton and Shay is off the charts and I had many swoon worthy moments with Easton. The drama and angst is real and the tension, heartache and healing was palpable. This was a well written story of love, friendship, family and second chances, of taking a leap of faith and of believing in yourself. I loved Easton and Shay and found them easy to relate to as I did the secondary characters. Can Easton and Shay get over the mistakes of the past and in doing so finally get the happily ever after together that they deserve? One click and find out.

If It's Only Love by Lexi Ryan is the sixth book in her Boys of Jackson Harbor series. Finally - we get the story of the Jackson sister, Shayleigh and a lifetime friend of the boys, Easton Connor. This story is ripe with missed opportunities, bad timing, and cruel fate. But it also chock-full of love, hope, heat, and second (and third or fourth) chances. Easton being four years older than Shay already had their timing off while they were all growing up together but that didn't stop either one of them from harboring a secret crush for the other. By the time Shay was old enough for Easton to honestly pursue he had been drafted to the NFL and was miles away from Michigan in LA. With a few chance meetings and hopeful encounters through the years they slowly learned that their timing was off but finally, finally, Easton is back and he's home in Jackson Harbor to stay. His goal? To finally show Shayleigh what she truly means to him. But, will she be able to get past all the hurt? Enjoy!

Where do I even begin..... How do I convey how this book made me feel?! So much, just so very much! The words captured my heart as well as my attention and I just couldn’t put it down! I haven’t read many books in this series however this one blew me away! The emotional storyline was incredibly beautiful and what the characters go through really made me feel alot! I laughed, I shed tears and thought Shay and Easton had a long and difficult time growing up and how they overcame certain things as well as how Shay’s family was, made this an amazing story the author should be incredibly proud of! It was very hard to try and put down words about this book as it was profoundly beautiful and just shows that perhaps true love can stand the test of time!

So the Jackson Brother might be BACK but this is ALL about the only Jackson girl .. Shayleign !! And she doesn’t let us down even though she is a GIRL !! The things she goes through during her life .. girls .. body type .. boys is hard just being you but when you have brothers to look after you even though you can hold your own with the boys and the girls being as smart as Shay is .. it is Hard !! There is always someone around looking after her. When feelings keep getting stomped on sometime it does take a toll on your heart and head. When her head is always filled lingering thoughts of her brothers best friend Easton we can never be sure where it will lead her .. in Jackson Harbor ?? NYC ?? LA ?? Or even Paris ?? Easton has ALWAYS had an eye for Shay BUT Carter put a stop to it early on .. BUT sometimes you can stop how the heart feels. When an NFL career takes him across the map Shay knows they will never have a chance or will they ?? They both have HARD life decisions to make and they each think they are doing each other a favor by backing away .. each time it gets harder and harder. Sometimes LIFE just gets in the way .. This installment will STOMP on your heart HARD .. it has love, loss, friendship and anxiety .. how and I mention crying !! Glad to see the whole Jackson crew back to have each other’s back in the good and the bad times !!

Friends to lovers? Best friend’s little sister? Second chance romance? A case of bad timing? All of the above, and I loved every minute of it. This is the sixth book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series, and it’s only the second one I’ve read, which I really need to rectify, because I just love the Jackson family. I had so many emotions with this story, my heart went out to both Easton and Shayleigh so many times. I wanted desperately for them to acknowledge their feelings for each other, I wanted so much for their happy ever after. The story spanned over 13 years, going backwards and forwards in time. Written in dual POV (my favourite). Wonderful writing, great story, and adorable characters throughout. I can’t get enough of this family. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Ohmygoodness….. I want to start off by saying I claim Easton… You know I have loved all the Jackson Harbor brothers and now Carter’s best friend Easton has been brought into the picture with eyes looking at the only sister, Shay, in this mix of Jackson siblings. This is not just a brother’s best friend, but also a second chance…. and timing is a b!t@h! This book was amazing. Easton has been around the Jackson family for years and Shay has had a crush on Easton for quite some time. There are a few brief moments that make Shay question if Easton feels anything, and this book takes you to and from the past to show you the connection between these two, but like I said, the timing sucks! The question is can they find their timing. This book was amazing and the story for these two may be riddled with hiccups along the way, but they are beautiful together. I absolutely loved their story!

This book isn’t just a second chance romance. It’s not just a sports romance. It’s a story of heartbreak, first love, loss, sacrifices, and the profound faith that family means everything. Lexi Ryan scripts an intricate web between the pages of this incredible story that captivates readers from the start. Each book in this amazing series showcases its own tale of complexity while tackling obstacles and complications that seem impossible to overcome. But Shay and Easton’s story expresses a whole new level of setbacks and heartache. Their long history together has been filled with longing, heartache, and overwhelmingly difficult decisions that leave them both broken. Their love is anything but perfect. And just when you think their timing is finally right, life steps in and threatens their already unstable reconnection. I’m a little sad that this series has come to an end. But I’m also extremely happy because this book was the perfect ending to all the Jackson sibling’s stories. If It’s Only Love overflows with love, devotion, and selflessness while also enrapturing the reader with its angst, unconditional love, and passionate romance. This book is sexy, sweet, and bleeds emotions. It can be read as a complete standalone, but I highly recommend starting from the beginning of the series and take an unforgettable journey to Jackson Harbor.

Shayleigh Jackson has been the girl of his dreams for years, but every time he thought he might have a chance to claim her as his own, something always managed to get in the way. When she was young his best friend, and her older brother, marked her as "off-limits" so he did his best to avoid showing his attraction for her. But before long it became too hard for them to deny their attraction, and they gave into it and wound up sharing a secret night or two. Each interaction spawning feelings that just continued to grow. Just when they thought it might be the right time for them to try their hand at a romance, Easton's ex came back around with an earth shattering announcement, that once again pushed them apart. In the years that followed they both tried to move on, but no one ever seem to compare, they both knew they'd never have that kind of love with anyone else, but what else could they do? For so long circumstances have kept them apart, but that is about to change once and for all... Easton's back in town and he wants his shot, and he isn't letting anything derail his plan! If It's Only Love is a story of second chances, forgiveness, first love, and new beginnings. This beautiful love story will touch the recesses of your heart, rattle your emotions, and leave you deeply moved. Each time I settle down with a book about this family it's like reuniting with my own, they welcome me with open arms and make me feel right at home. I loved this story so much, I have been dying to see Shay get her happily ever after, and I have to say her story was definitely worth the wait... even though it was rough on the heart. This was a wonderful addition to the series, it was thought-provoking, riddled with feels, dramatic, and quite enthralling. Once I cracked the cover, and my eyes started to digest the words, I just could not put it down... it was completely addicted! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, I guarantee you'll love what you find between it's pages! I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

4 1/2 "tagalong" stars I seriously thought Ms. Ryan was going to crack my poor little heart wide open with this book. I had no idea that Shayleigh had been through so much. Talk about a girl earning her Happily Ever After. She earned it and then some... If It's Only Love is told between present day and flashbacks. Shay crushed on Easton Connor when she was growing up. He was her older brother's best friend but she couldn't help her attraction to him. What she didn't realize is that he was just as attracted to her but knew she was too young at the time. Then he is leaves to play professional football and becomes fairly famous. His love life with other women is plastered in the tabloids. Obviously not everything is true, but how is Shay to distinguish fact from fiction. Shay moved forward with her own life, or tried to. Of course at different points, Easton always seemed to float back in when she needed him. Even if it was only for a night. Let's just say that Easton was not your typical NFL player. He was trying to be the best man that he could be. He didn't always succeed but he was always trying even to the point of sometimes sacrificing his own happiness. Shay and Easton's love story seems to be a series of unfortunate events, misunderstandings and a lot of bad timing. Through it all, her brothers never had a clue there had been anything between them. Talk about being able to keep secrets like Fort Knox. Even though at times, this story was high on the angst and drama meter, I loved every single second. It kept me reading until the very last page. I simply had to know if Shay and Easton could ever work things out. Would fate ever work in their favor? If you're a fan of best friend's little sister, second chance, sports romance or friends to lovers, this book truly has a little bit of it all plus even more. It was truly such a good read. Lexi Ryan knocked this one out of the park! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book had me at the first page. Lexi Ryan did it again with this book. She had me so intrigued with this book because there were so many twists and turns and it left me not knowing what was going to happen next. It kept me reading even when I was beyond tired. In my opinion it was a love hate relationship with this book but that is also what kept my attention all the way to the end. The usual Jackson Clan are involved in this book Shay, Levi, Ellie, Carter, Ava, Jake, Brayden, Molly, and Teagan. A few new characters were introduced in this book and they add quite a few of those twists and turns mentioned earlier. Her characters had many things to deal with and difficult choices to make but through It all they grew as an individual but it didn’t prevent them from hurting or being hurt by other people. I cannot stress enough how good this book was and you won’t regret reading it. Don’t take my word for it…..read it!!

There is a saying from the bible, "love is patient, love is kind, love does not come to an end." This definitely applies to Shay and Easton. Shay has loved Easton since she was a little girl. Although life circumstances got in the way she never stopped. Easton always had a special place in his heart for her also. But there was always something that kept them from finally being together. Each time they thought they could finally make a go of it Shay got her heart broken. She understood why they couldn't be together but she didn't have to like it. Easton felt a special something for Shay but he felt that his responsibilities came first. He always wanted to do the right thing. Now he finds himself back to where it all began this time he was not letting her get away. It would be a perfect world if when he came back that would be it but the universe had other plans for these two. Can they overcome these new obstacles? Will that saying come true for them? Patient, kind, never come to an end? Will they finally get their happily ever after?

Oooohhhh what a story!! I was waiting for Shay's story! The only sister in the Jackson clan and she was quite the enigma in the previous books! The flow of this story is spectacular, the way the story flashes back to the past between Easton and Shayleigh is smooth and easy to follow.  It brings more to their story and what a rollercoaster it is. Easton and Shayleigh have a rough relationship.  Time and distance, circumstances beyond their control forces them to separate.  But beyond space and time the love between these two is epic. Shayleigh, oh this girl...I wanted to hug her hard.  I wanted to be her best friend.  She has some severe insecurities and that unfortunately rules how she moves forward in the future. She is so hard headed and I wanted to shake her too! Easton, this fella well I was swooning hard over.  He tries to do the right thing but at what cost?  He is admirable and yes he has made some mistakes but he tries to own up to them and move forward. Ms. Ryan has created a world and a cast of characters that are so believable and honest!  Jackson Harbor is a town I would love to live in! And the Jackson family? Well I want to be an honorary member! Get you hands on this angsty, twisty love story! You won't be sorry!

I love childhood friends to lovers and second chance romances. Thrown in a little love/hate and you get this book. The one I’ve been waiting for since the beginning of the series, Shaleigh(Shay) Jackson. Shay had me right when I was first introduced too her. She's witty, has a mouth on her, very loyal and loves her family. However, as we delve into Shay's background I was surprised about her past and her self-esteem issues. I knew she had some, but a few times it broke my heart a little bit to hear her talk about herself like that. Still Shay is the nerdy girl who is drop dead gorgeous, but she never sees herself that way. Enter Easton Connor that boy she has loved since she was a little girl. Though there is four years age difference it didn't stop Shay from wanting Easton to notice her. But would he notice the frumpy, brainy tagalong little sister? Easton is Shay's brother's best friend. Easton is the hometown football star who just made it too the NFL. He is living Jackson Harbor for LA and is leaving behind his second family and the girl who seems to calm his anxiety, Shay. He knows that she is Carter's little sister, but she is the brightness in his dark sometimes. She isn't a little girl anymore and he has never thought of her as a sister. Nope she's been the one that he's wanted for quite a few years, but she's been too young until she isn't anymore. Easton knows he's leaving and knows that he can't offer her anything, but friendship even though he desires more from her. However, through the years they have secretly had a few encounters and the timing wasn't right, and life moves on. Things seem to pull both Easton and Shay in different directions. Fast forward twelve years and Easton is back home to get the girl. Will he convince Shay that she means more to him that she thinks? Will Shay forgive him for the past? These two together just slammed into me. I loved Shay. She is a girl who goes after what she wants, but lately she's been drowning with decisions for the future. Now that Easton is back, her mind and heart are all over the place. Easton is not going to give up on Shay. He knows he has a lot to make up for, but he wants her and is determined. They have intense chemistry that jumped at me, some very steamy moments and of course there are a few heartbreaking moments between them. I loved this series and I hope it is not the last of this family. I want to be a Jackson. I can't say enough about the series. It has suspense, it has funny moments, it has angst, and it hits the buttons on the steam factor. Each book is a standalone, but I recommend reading them all in no particular order. They all have their own spin and fantastic storyline. If It's Only Love was a beautiful story about forgiveness, and finding what makes you happy. It has a few moments that as a women you will definitely relate too. This might be one of my favorites in the series just because it was Shay and I understood her. I highly recommend this!!

4.5 Why I Want You Stars! I have always loved the Men of Jackson Harbor and the women who bring them to their knees! But move over boys, cuz Ryan has saved the best for last with Shayleigh and Easton’s story! What she put this pair through to finally get the timing right took my breath away, brought me to tears, but had me totally cheering for their HEA! Shay and Easton were always drawn to each other. Easton was best friends with Shay's older brother, and Carter warned him to stay away. But East had issues that only Shay was able to soothe. Shay was the little sister who followed them around. Shay had her own image problems and never saw that she was good enough for the popular star quarterback. But East saw her for who she really was and didn't want to hold back his intelligent, loving, sexy friend. With East being four years older and drafted to a football team across the country, they were never in the same place and same time in their lives to act on their love for each other. Now that Easton is moving home, he is through with taking the easy route, and is determined to fight for Shay, and make her his. But Shay has been through too much heartbreak and loss and isn't willing to open herself up to him again. Their forbidden, friends to lovers romance was sweet, steamy, and riveting. Ms. Ryan expertly and exquisitely portrayed life with all it's complications, joy, heartbreak, and pleasure. She skillfully revealed this story in alternating past and present sequence allowing the reader to be truly engaged both emotionally and thoughtfully. She expertly weaved a tale of friendship, love, loss, and heartbreak, and ultimately of hope and healing. This story is a raw and emotional journey that will keep you captivated from beginning to end. I am so in love with the whole Jackson family and how loving, supportive, and essential they are to each other. Two scenes at the end, with Shay's mom, and then with Easton had me in tears, in a good way! What a perfect ending to this fun, exhilarating, emotional and steamy family saga series. I have grown to really care for each of them. I am sad it is done but so happy I was along for the ride!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** I'm a fan of friends to lovers romances and I also enjoy a good childhood friends to lovers romance, so considering this one was both of those, it was right up my alley. Throw in an athlete and I'm even more in my element! Shayleigh (Shay) Jackson is the only girl of the Jackson siblings and she's extremely loyal, loves her family and is working on earning her PhD. She has always had a crush on her brother Carter's best friend, Easton, and she's never felt like she would be good enough for him due to her insecurities about her looks/weight, but she also didn't think the destined for the NFL athlete would ever see her in the same light she has always seen him. Easton Conner was the star high school football player who has now made it to the NFL. He's always been close to the Jackson's as he's Carter's best friend, however he's always had a soft spot for Shay as well. Shay has always been a calming influence on him and when he leaves Jackson Harbor for LA, he not only leaves behind his second family, he leaves behind the girl he's developed feelings for. Over the years, Easton and Shay have had a series of romantic encounters that both of them have kept secret. The timing for them has just never been right and there is a mountain of hurt feelings and circumstances have always pulled them further apart instead of closer together. When Easton moves back to Jackson Harbor, the two are now in one another's orbit more often and they have to figure out how they feel about one another and what the feelings they are feeling really mean. Easton is dead set on proving to Shay that she is what he wants. Can he truly convince her? And for Shay, can she forgive him for things that have happened in the past? I absolutely loved these two characters. They both know what they want and are driven to get it, whether it involves school, work, or personal relationships. The chemistry between them is absolutely incredible and the way they fit together as a duo and how Easton fits in with the whole Jackson family is so wonderful. I enjoyed this story so much and it demonstrates what forgiveness and finding what makes you happy is all about.

Before Shay and East, I never knew love could hurt so good. If It's Only Love is a reminder that it's okay to shed a few tears. Ryan is an ace when it comes to heartache, but equally skilled at romance. Teen infatuation becomes a heartbreaking love story that was years in the making. Will young love get an adult happy ending? Compelling and endearing meets enduring and emotional to create an unforgettable find.
