It breaks down to 72 pages because the hardcover copy has lots of blank pages. The 72 pages IS the same product.

Betty White is one of my favorite people and her writing is wonderful. However, I am very disappointed that I only received 1/4 of the book - 72 pages on Nook rather than the 256 hardcover. I paid almost as much as the full hardcover. I recommend not buying the Nook version.

Who doesn't love Betty White? Why, I remember watching Life with Elizabeth and The Betty White Show in the 1950s--many years ago! I remember when she and Allen Ludden were together on his Password show. They later married in 1963. She still prefers to be called Mrs. Ludden--her married name, and she offers the reader many other incites into her interesting life and career. The book is easy to read, with short chapters, and it's loaded with pictures.

I bought this for nook and I'm extremely disappointed that it's only 72 pages in comparison to the 200+ page hardcover edition. Can it be that all 200+ pages are condensed to only 72 on nook? Have I been deceived? I love Betty...so I guess I'm going to have to go out and buy the hardcover so I can get the full story!

I cannot believe that anyone, much less a company like Barnes and Noble, has the gall to charge $12.99 for this Nook book or that I, a 70-something, was gullible enough to pay it. If it were 72 pages of fiction, it wouldn't even be in book format. It would be a short story in an obscure women's magazine. I am a huge Betty White fan, but let's be honest. This wonderful, funny actress can't write. While I genuinely admire her talent on camera, I found this book to be a waste of my money and the two hours it took me to read it. I believe the only reason it's a best seller is because Ms. White wrote it. It's not hilarious or insightful, as the editors claim. It's a few pages of much repitition of material that wasn't that great to begin with.

This is a great book. I flew thru the pages. She is very entertaining and writes well to keep your interest. To those who are concerned to the less pages in this e-book vs the printed one. There were lots of pages with little printing on it in the actual book. They used larger fonts to "flesh-out" the book version. I looked at this in a B&N store. You can be assured when you get the e-version, you DO HAVE THE ENTIRE BOOK!! She's so funny!! i would get it again!!

. . . the book is a waste of time. It can easily be read in a couple of hours. It is filled with nothing! Each "chapter" goes about three paragraphs and much of the material is repetitious. Betty has been a favorite performer of mine for years . . . going back to "Life With Elizabeth", but this book is a complete "dud". Nothing remotely funny and a total waste of time and money!

Vignettes from a delightful career are good in short bursts. But Betty's title promised wisdom and advice gleaned from the perspective of her years. Instead, it simply flowed from one name-dropping incident to another. We expected wise advice regarding life in general, and aging gracefully, in particular. The book didn't deliver.

I've seen a lot of reviews about the book only being 72 pages. I checked it out from the library. I really enjoyed it. It was short, an easy read, but very fun. I would recommend it.

I have watched Betty over the years, mainly as Rose in Golden Girls, re-run after re-run. I was so dissappointed in this book. Coming from Betty, I expected the book to be enlightening and very funny. It was neither.

no, the nook version is NOT abridged, it is the same book, word for word, as the ahrdcover. the differnce in page counts is due to typeface, blank pages in the hardocver edition, etc.

Betty White has had an exceptional life.  I know myself I grew up with her on the Golden Girls and loved watching her and the other ladies make us laugh.  I loved her when I was older in Lake Placid as she played the brassy Mrs. Delores Bickerman.  Me and my husband love her brassiness in this movie she rocked!  We also watched some Hot In Cleveland and thought she was great in it.  Something about Betty White we just love her as an actress she knows how to thrive in whatever she puts her hand to. Now after all my gushing about Ms. White onto this book which is great she talks about various topics whether it is her marriage to Allen Ludden, or her love of animals which she has a great theory about.  She connects more with animals because an animal won't lie to you, hurt you on purpose.  They may have bad days but they have their ways of dealing with it.  Got to love that theory! This book was incredible being able to see what her life was like, what advice she has to offer others and how she has dealt with certain situations.  I am just in awe of her talent and ability!  We are blessed to have Ms. White around for as long as we can and to be able to enjoy her acting ability.  She has played so many different characters but I think her best one is herself.

a fantastic book couldn't stop reading

She started out as a writer. "Writing is my favorite thing," she says, and she did NOT use a ghostwriter on this book, at (then) 89 years old. Is there anything earth-shattering in here? No. Any anecdotes about a secret love affair (well, besides the George Clooney thing)? No. Betty White is THE person with the longest-lasting active television career - 65+ years. This book is a little bit autobiography and a little bit show biz anecdotes and a little bit personal philosophy and a little bit about animals and friendships and crossword puzzles and aging and love. She's written other books beside this one, and over her 65 years of television, there are MANY other sources, from books to YouTube to online articles to put together a picture of her life story. If you already like Betty White, you'll still like her when you finish, without feeling that you now know the deepest depths of her soul. Those things she has always kept private, stay private. As a reader, I'm okay with that.
