Reviewed by Vernita Naylor for Readers' Favorite If you’re looking for an educational resource book that your children can enjoy, share, and read over and over again, then pick up a copy of any of Carole P. Roman’s educational children's books. If You Were Me and Lived in... Brazil: A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World by Carole P. Roman is Volume 17 of the If You Were Me and Lived in… series. In this book, children will learn about the history, culture and the foods that makes Brazil so special. Your child will feel as if they've actually traveled to Brazil as they learn about the various aspects of this interesting country. In this book they will learn about the markets, the game Cinco Marias, the samba, and about the toucan, along with other insects, plants, fish, birds and animals that live in the Amazon rain forest. I love these beautifully illustrated children’s book that Carole creates. The books allow a child to be taken on an adventure into another culture that they may otherwise never experience. As your child sees through the eyes of the children in the book, they will come away from the experience with a diverse and comprehensive education on Brazil. Carole not only provides the basics about Brazil, but touches upon the language of the country, Portuguese, which is not only spoken in Brazil but Portugal as well. To enhance and enrich the learning experience for young readers, there is a glossary that is special to Brazil which your child can refer to over and over again.

Let's take a new trip. This time to Brazil. Did you know they speak Portuguese? Brazil is the capital of South America. The president of the country lives there. We can visit the Amazon Rain Forest. We'll see fish, birds, monkey's and parrots. One of the biggest events in Brazil is Carnival. Everyone dresses up and has fun. This series of books is one you need in your child's library. They will learn so much by reading these books. It's fantastic to see books that will teach as well as entertain. They are well written and informative for children of any age. You will never go wrong with this book. I found no issues. I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because they are fantastic. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

If You Were Me and Lived In...Brazil by Carole P. Roman is another awesome and informative book for kids (and adults) on Brazil. The book tells kids what their name might be, what they might eat, what their customs are, what they would wear, play, and other things important to kids. Plus, it also teaches them a few words from Brazil! The illustrations help the information but other books I think had better illustrations. I think schools should adopt her books help teach kids, it is fun learning this way. My grandkids would love this. I was given this book for a honest review.

Award-winning Carole P Roman's series If You Were Me and Lived in...is a wonderful way to introduce children, ages pre-K to 8 years, to cultures of people around the world. Roman's book Brazil, beautifully illustrated by Kelsea Wierenga and simply written, is sure to capture a child's interest and imagination. A pronunciation guide at the back and embedded within the book enables children to learn simple words and names of places in Brazil. From going to the mercearia (the market) to traveling down the Amazon River through the rain forest, from eating moqueca (a favorite fish stew) to playing futebol with friends and from celebrating the amazing annual holiday, Carnival of Brazil, to going to school, kids will learn about Brazilian traditions, foods, and geography. It is well known that books can take an armchair reader (or one sitting on a lap) anywhere and Roman does a fantastic job of taking her young readers to Brazil, a place of beauty and age-old customs. Highly recommended for a child's library. I received my book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own. In Carole’s latest release, If You Were Me and Lived in…Brazil, kids and adults alike will be transported to the “coffee country”, learning about popular names, places, and games all on the child’s level! The illustrations are realistic and interactive, and the writing has easy transitions and a good amount of vocabulary words. The end glossary is helpful to define words that were not immediately defined in the story and it is very thorough. Overall, I really enjoyed the newest addition to Carole’s A Child’s Introduction to Cultures Around the World series and give it a full 5 out of 5 stars! I recommend it to teachers and homeschool moms who are wanting to study Brazil in the upcoming school year. This review was originally published on Literature Approved. If You Were Me And Lived In..Brazil is an introduction to what life is like in Brazil! We learn that Brazil is the largest country in South America and it is the largest Portuguese County in the World. As we get a lesson in what food and culture is like there, it's the perfect book to get to know what Brazil is really like! I found the timing of this book to be released to be perfect with the Summer Olympics only a month away and the perfect time to get kids understanding of what life is like down there! I found myself loving these books even though I'm a adult without kids, I could see these books being perfect in schools to give kids that extra advantage to learning new cultures! I also love how some of the words, you can easily sound out which makes it easy to read and you can learn some new words!! Thank You to Carole P. Roman for having this book out during the most perfect time ever!! I received this book from the Author in exchange for a honest review.
