This is the second book in the Boys of Fall series by Erin Nicholas. It was completely different from what I normally read but as always Ms Nicholas drew me in and I loved the story!! I fell in love with all the characters! It was one of those books that I just had to finish but then was sad when it was over!!! This just may have been my favorite Erin Nicholas novel so far!!!!

I loved this book! Carter was one of my favorite characters from the first round of Boys of Fall books, so I was very excited that he was going to have his own book. The best part of this book was Carter's inner struggle and his journey to the knowledge that he had everything that Lacey needed!

Carter has been in love with Lacey for years, but never felt he was good enough or the marrying type. He lets his best friend, Garrett have Lacey instead. They all share one sizzling night between the three of them. Soon after Garrett is killed, Lacey has decided she has something special with Carter, now only prove to Carter that he is good enough for her. A sizzling read, but an emotional read that will will have you laughing and crying. An unconditional love between Lacey and Carter is a special story, that I highly recommend.

Illegal Motion was an amazing read. Not your typical romance book from Erin Nicholas however it was powerful and written with true talent. I cried, I laughed, I loved but most of all I routed for the two to find their happily ever after. Once I started to read this book I couldn't put it down. She wrote every scene with such emotion and intimacy that at one point I felt like I was really there. I wanted to wrap my arms around carter and tell him it was all going to be ok. My favorite part of the entire book was the raw moment on Cooper's Hill were Carter is talking to Garrett and promising him things. Letting Garrett know he will make sure Lacey is cherished in not only Carter's way but how Garrett would have cherished her as well! I cried hard there! This book was truly amazing and worth the read. Hell its worth a reread and another reread!!

Carter and Lacey have a history that no one in Quinn knows about so when she shows up out of no wear Carter is in for some surprises. Carter has his issues holding him back but luckily Lacey knows patience will win and don’t forget the surprises under her coat.

Illegal Motion was definitely a book unlike any other that I have read before! When I first started it, I wondered whether or not I would really enjoy it, but boy was I wrong! This book tells us the story of Carter and Lacey. Carter has had deep feelings for Lacey since the first night they met, by she was engaged to his best friend, so he didn't want to overstep any lines. However, after one explosive night, everything changes in their relationship. Unfortunately, after a tragic accident 6 months before takes the life of her fiancé, Lacey is back in Quinn to get Carter back. She's willing to do whatever it takes to get him back in her life, and she is not going to give up until she gets her way. This book was a GREAT one by Nicholas, from beginning to end. It covered a wide range of emotions, made me laugh, cry, and was one that I didn't want to put down. Cannot wait to see what is in store next in Quinn! **I received an early copy in exchange for an honest review**

I am a die hard Erin Nicholas Fan, and have proudly been one for over 6 years now. While this book is not what many of her die hards would have expected, it was absolutely amazing. I love watching how an author grows with each book and Illegal Motion wove such a well crafted story of emotion, passion, confusion and love with two main characters that steamed up the pages, I could not put it down! Carter Shaw is your typical Alpha guy with a history that makes him who he is, Lacey Andrews is one of those women you wish you could be, sweet, caring and she puts her entire heart and soul into whatever she does. Lacey and Cater share a history however that comes to a head when she travels to Quinn to try to forget that past and move into the future with Carter. This book does deal with aspects of romance and love that some may be uncomfortable reading but it's nothing glaring and in your face. Erin wrote these feelings in such a way that anyone with an open mind who understands love comes in all forms can feel from the top of their head to the tips of their toes. In the long run it confirms my thoughts on love with your best friend!

The next book in the Boys of Fall series. Erin does it again, but this time even HOTTER! Carter and Lacey's story is extremely sexy, sometimes dark and sad, but with the amazing story telling that has all Erin Nicholas fans hooked! If you like sexy stories about hot football players, don't miss this book!

This is not your typical Erin Nicholas romance. It was hotter, sadder and had more raw emotions! That being said, I can't tell you how much I loved this book! Carter Shaw is grieving because his best friend Garrett died in the line of duty. Garrett's fiancee Lacey shows up in Quinn to be with Carter. It turns out that Lacey, Garrett and Carter have more than a history of friendship between them. Lacey wants forever but Carter doesn't believe that he is good enough for her. I loved how they worked through their grief over losing Garrett together. It takes Carter awhile but he finally gets it together! The scene in the bar between Oakley and Carter was really funny. Also some scenes with Carter and Nolan were hilarious! I would recommend this book!

ILLEGAL MOTION is Erin Nicholas’s second book in the hot and sexy multi-author Boys of Fall series set in the small town of Quinn, Texas. Illegal Motion is the story of Carter Shaw, now a cop in Quinn, but once of member of Coach Nicholas Carr’s famous football team and Lacey Andrews, the one woman he can’t forget. These two were once the best of friends and Lacey wanted more, but Carter just doesn’t believe it’s in his DNA to be committed to only one woman. He doesn’t believe he’s good enough for Lacey no matter how much he feels for her. I loved Illegal Motion’s intensity! Things have changed since Carter first walked away and Lacey is determined to regain the love she lost. I was so wrapped up in the story I could not turn the pages fast enough. I loved both of these characters and wanted to see them together in the worst way. That Carter was so stubborn! Along with the emotional story line there were plenty of laughs, great dialogue, hot and spicy sexy times, and wonderful characters to keep things flowing. I particularly liked the scene where a downtrodden Carter gets drunk with his old friend, Oakley. Hilarious! Then Carter the next morning has an epiphany, “Tequila was not his friend.” I was rolling. Illegal Motion was an excellent read and a entertaining addition to the Boys of Fall series. 4 stars. ~Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review~

Carter Shaw only wants one woman, his best friend's girl. Before Garrett's untimely death the three of them share one night together and it haunts Carter. Not only because of his feelings for Lacey but also the way he feels about Garrett, he loved his best friend. Mix all that with a childhood filled with hurt and loss and Carter isn't sure a HEA exists for anyone. Then Lacey shows up on his doorstep to try to prove him wrong. Her short time with Garrett has taught her a hard lesson, life is short and you better grab happiness while you can. She is pretty sure Carter felt the same pull she had their one night together and she isn't willing to let anything come between them, especially the ghost of their past. The complex characters and situations in this book will keep you reading long past your bedtime. But the true delight is when you can have all the drama and complexities mixed with a good dose of humor and a lot of love (a little Tequila doesn't hurt either). That makes it real and believable and this book has it in spades. I love a book that makes you think, that grabs your heart and gives it a little squeeze. When you're watching the end slowly approach and both want to know what happens but you just aren't ready to let it go. That was this book for me. A job well done.

"Illegal Motion" is written by Erin Nicholas, and it is part of the Boys of Fall series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Carter Shaw and Lacey Andrews. Lacey came back to town because she missed Carter. Carter understood her. They're both overcome by grief by the loss of Garrett, who was Lacey's fiance and Carter's best friend. They needed each other's support through this difficult time, and when they worked out their problems, they became stronger. It was nice to see their relationship progress, and I'm sure everyone will love the ending! It was great! I've always been a fan of Erin's work, and while I'm not much of a fan of menage a trois storylines, I gave this story a chance. This story only had flashbacks of this one-time tryst, so don't let that stray you if you're like me when it comes to said storylines. This is a good story! You can feel the angst, the tension, and the struggle that Carter and Lacey had to overcome. And boy, were they one HOT couple! Wonderful job by Erin! She can never do wrong in my book!

One night one man shared his woman with his best friend. Garrett and Lacey wanted Carter to complete their relationship as a ménage. There was only one surprise Carter couldn't live with, then Garrett was killed in the line of duty and their trio was no more. Will Carter ever be able to forget about Lacey and move on? Will he regret not giving his answer to Garrett sooner and wasting so much time? "His sexiness came, not from his hair or his clothes, but from the way he moved and the confidence and intensity that was just a part of him" Lacey describing Carter. I am NEVER disappointed by the writing of Erin Nicholas and this story is as great as the rest of them. The feelings Carter was dealing with were intense. First I was a little disappointed in how he was dealing but after some thought, there really is no precedent for dealing with that kind of situation. I love how Lacey was assertive in going after what she wanted. The drunken bar scene had me laughing out loud! I love the Boys of Fall series! Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.

Fans of Erin Nicholas' steamy and sweet series should take note that this book is less sweet and lots steamier than her previous books. And that’s a very good thing. I really like Lacey and admire her for going after what she wants, which is a life with Carter, her late fiancé’s best friend. Now Carter. *sigh* He's a likeable guy. Sexy for sure. But Carter has a lot to learn and even more to accept. Luckily Lacey is far more patient than I. Many times I was ready to smack him with his own book to knock some sense into him. It takes a while, but he finally stops fighting himself and truly gets it. Illegal Motion is a standalone, but I think the reader will get more out of it if book one, Out of Bounds, is read first. Getting to know all of the characters just adds more feels to each story. I can’t wait for book three to revisit them in their fictional town of Quinn. If the author kicks up the heat level again, things are going to get even more interesting. I say bring it. 3.5 Stars

What can I say but WOW!!! This is great book by Erin Nicholas!!! Commitment and long term is not in Carter's vocabulary for relationships. He's seen is father fail way too many times. Carter is the fun loving guy and doesn't want anything long term. He feels that he can do the flowers and romance thing with any woman until.... Lacey shows up at his door. He has been in love with her for years but just can't admit it to himself. It doesn't take long for Lacey to make him rethink his way of life.

This story of Lacey, Carter, ...and Garrett is a bit different than Erin usually writes but that doesn't make it any less great. Lacey comes back into Carter's life months after Garrett's death and stirs up all kinds of emotions that Carter didn't want to acknowledge. Carter had lost his best friend and closed himself off from the only girl he'd ever thought he could love. Garrett is never coming back, but Lacey is there, in his home and she wants him to be with her. But Carter can't seem to get over the past and the part of their threesome that was now and forever missing. Garrett was the good dependable, marriage and kids guy that Lacey needed and Carter thinks he can't be. Carter needs to face his abandonment issues and he needs to grieve his best friends death if he has any hope of moving forward with Lacey. On his journey he encounters a few people in his life that have stuck with him and they help put him on the path to being the guy Lacey needs. I'm sure you'll enjoy as much as I did seeing Carter come to terms with being the only guy Lacey will ever want or need.

I am a big fan of Erin Nicholas and was excited to have the opportunity to read and review this book. The story is set in Quinn TX.. a small town which, like any other small town in TX, loves their high school football team… hence the name of the series… “Boys of Fall.” Carter grew up in Quinn and was part of a championship high school team. He did not have a great role model in his dad and made the decision that marriage and commitment and happily ever after was not for him. His best friend Garrett falls in love with Lacey and unfortunately Carter does too.. but he does not want to admit his feelings for her. He feels Lacey is better off with Garrett so he is content to be on the sidelines.. until one night when all that changed. Lacey has lost the two men she loved the most… Garrett is gone forever and Carter has distanced himself from her physically and emotionally. She knows what she wants and goes for it… she shows up in Quinn to try to reclaim the intimacy and the closeness she is missing. The story is an emotional one which you will find yourself getting wrapped up in.. you may cry, you may laugh and you will definitely blush. Carter and Lacey belong together and their journey of healing is a great one… well worth the read! Disclaimer: I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

For years Carter Shaw has been in love with Lacey Andrews. Knowing that his best friend Garrett also has feelings for Lacey, Carter pushes the two together. He knows deep down that Garrett is the better man for her. The friendship the three share is unique and special. That friendship is put to the test after an intense sizzling night. Before Garrett and Carter can put things right again, Garrett is killed. When Lacey shows up on Carter's doorstep, guilt and remorse has him trying to push her away. Lacey won't have any of it and forces Carter to really look at himself and decide exactly what he wants. This one is sizzling hot for sure but it also has a great story at the core. I would definitely recommend this one.

Illegal Motion was an amazing book. Lacey was such a sweetheart and Carter was awesome too. There was perhaps more ?turmoil? in this book than some of the other Erin Nicholas books I've read, but it was well written and made you want more. The hotness factor was sweat-producing, but not over the top. And as always, you get your happily-ever-after that Erin Nicholas is famous for.

Erin is back with her second book in the Boys of Fall collection. This collection is written by three authors (Erin Nicholas, Mari Carr, and Cari Quinn about the men and ladies of Quinn, Texas. All of the books are linked to the same town and characters, but can be read as a stand alone. The second set of books by this group all have a menage theme. So be for warned. I loved that this book and I think Erin did a wonderful job at touching a very taboo subject without going head first into the deep end. This is Carter and Lacey's story. Lacey's husband, Garrett, was Carter's best friend and the three of them made a great team. When feelings are developed the friendship falls apart and Garrett's passing complicates things even more. MS Nicholas has a way of making me feel right at home with all her characters. At the end of her books, I feel like I have made new friends that will stay with me forever. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for the people of Quinn Texas!
