5 stars I received a free copy of the novel Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures by Janice O'Hara and this review was given freely. The overdramatic humor and drama of a RomCom merges with suspense and a twisted sting operation in this full length novel with sinister undertones and a hint of steam. The unlucky in love Jack of all trades Mia becomes embroiled in a religious plot of corruption and extortion when her mother enlists her help to discover what her sister Tabitha is hiding. Their plan to steal back a family heirloom starts a domino effect that ends in subterfuge, Mia meeting a man who is not what he portrays, a fake pregnancy, a kidnapping and finally fulfillment of love. Interesting characters along with family and workplace drama combined with a complicated plot make this an interesting and action packed story.

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
Trail of Secrets by Alexa Padgett...This was a really good great I really liked both Alex and Isobel these two knew each other when they were younger and both of them had a crush on the other. These two meet again when he ends up at the ranch where she is a therapist. There was some drama and plenty of chemistry I enjoyed it
Fabulous anthology - loads of romance here! Let’s start with the statistics for this huge anthology. There are a total of 23 standalone stories, each with an HEA – some find our couples just committed, quite a few are engaged, a couple are married; one book says that couple’s story will be continued in future book (though the couple has HEA now). There’s a good mixture of first person POV and third person POV. All the couples are M/F, and only a couple have a hint of kink, though most have detailed steamy love scenes. About half are novella length, while the rest are novel length. The first story is very long – I’m guessing over 100K words. There’s something for everyone in this set. We’ve got billionaires, virgins, a double-virgin story, doctors, at least one cowboy, a singer, a football player, and an author. We’ve got second-chance romances, single dads, enemies-to-lovers, and workplace romances. Dirty Work by Jeana E. Mann was my favorite. Colton and Charlie have very different opinions on romance. He’s a pessimistic divorce attorney while she’s an optimistic marriage counselor. After a steamy one-night-stand, they don’t meet again until his grandmother hires her to clean his home. They both have to work against their preconceived opinions of each other. There was terrific depth of emotion in this story, despite its novella length. The characters really resonated with me, and the epilogue was absolutely perfect. I also really enjoyed Rock Me Hard by Casey Hagen. Aiden and Natalie’s road to their HEA is paved with misunderstandings and mistaken identities, making for a truly fascinating and fun romance. All of the stories are well-written and engaging, and the sheer volume of this work makes this an easy book to recommend. It’s probably the best book money you’ll spend this year.
