Overview

Illicit by Tessa Stone, Averill Davenport

Illicit uncovers passions longed for even in marriage. One woman's decision to surrender to forbidden desires seems simple especially when the choice is between an abusive and unfaithful husband and a sexy, security lieutenant. But that is not how she wants to do things. Instead, she gets wrapped up in a whirlwind of temptation that neither she nor the lieutenant can deny.
Just when she decides to admit her feelings to her husband, she stumbles upon evidence of her greatest fear. Though the investigative case of larceny uncovers secrets and shatters friendships, Odyssey has an important decision to make. Should she continue on in an unhappy marriage, praying that something changes, or should she succumb to the powers of the Illicit?

This is the first time that I have read a romance suspense novel and now I am hooked! Tessa Stone writes in such a way that keeps you turning the pages and looking for more! I loved her characters too. She said that this is her first novel? Wow! I can't wait until Hidden Blossom comes out. I'll be the first in line to buy it!

This book is brilliant. I thought the author tackled very hard and modern issues (such as divorce) in a new light. She addressed how it is easy to throw love away, but one must fight for what you believe in and not give up because of pressure. Odyssey is very likable and all the characters serve their purpose very well. The best part of it all is that it isn't sappy. I know plenty of books these days that are "boy meets girl and then they have sex." She saves the special moments for when they are needed and are realistic to explore. Great book! Highly recommend.
